Can You See Anything?

Sorry, but any competent instrument rated pilot, even a private pilot, should be able to make that landing.

Try landing a jet on a heaving carrier deck at night in the middle of the ocean after you have come back from a combat mission. Now that takes skill.

The rain made it bad. the trick is distance awareness, but the video camera made it seem worse. I'm sure that they were able to see the clouds and maybe a few buildings on the left there. IFR is so much different than VFR, but at least it wasn't durring the night!

It's called Air Traffic Control VOR ILS :) Do some research...

becoz they hav meter's to measure height and other things........

I have been in planes in perfectly good, but windy conditions that have landed worse than this one. Kudos to the pilot who landed this one safely.

We need to give most pilots credit foor statying cool. I do wonder what their heart rate was during this verses a noemal landing where you can see.

Wow! He must've had to depend solely on his flight instruments for most of that approach. Nerves of steele on that guy.

i flew a cesna a few times in good weather. this is an unbelievable video to watch!!! imagine the pressure of all those lives plus your own while multitasking then add the fact you cant see. more vids/pilots like this please!

I wouldn't want to drive in that weather. Even if pilot is trained to be able to do that, it is still hard to believe that they landed. 5 stars and my hat off to you.

no i cant see anythin but my uncle is a pilot and he landed in heavy rain

a little low though.....

low visibilty isn't much of a problem for takin off or landing....the planes can fly themselves

the main problem with low visibility happens with ground movements, makes it difficult for the pilots and the ower to see where the other aircraft are which could result in a collision on the ground
