  • ok, lets see.

    my car starts AWESOME now.
    thanks to your help.
    BUTTTT,
if i put it on the ground it doesnt stay in neutral, what can i do to fix this?
and i still have fuel spitting out of my exhaust.?
and it runs rich what do i do?
    and
when i touch the thottle if i give it like not even half, it stalls?
    what can i do there?

    • Hey mate I read your comment

on Youtube as well n all questions. If your truck is too rich, close the slave valve a bit. n check. Exhaust can spit thick oil but if it spits raw fuel it is running too rich. if you give it throttle n engine stops, it's running too rich probably. so close the slave valve bit by bit until truck runs well. If it is too lean, engine gets very hot (damaged too) and there is very little visible smoke coming out. Too lean is dangerous. so open the slave valve a bit for that. Now to set neutral speed use idle speed valve on engine or throttle trim on your radio. I recommend throttle trim as idle speed valve affects settings in carb. if you start engine and even on neutral speed tires are spinning you have broken the clutch shoes spring. take your engine out and replace the clutch shoe spring. all will set. Without replacing clutch shoe spring you never can keep truck engine running.

    • ok, ill try it out.

so if it is to rich i shouldnt touch the low end mixture screw?
my engine does get hot pretty fast, but it runs rich, so i have to find an in the middle setting then ?
what do i set the throttle trim at, if i want it to stay at neutral?
but ill watch your vid on replacing the clutch, so if i replacxe that it will do the trick?
my truck runs well, oh and, oh nvm.
      thanks for the tips mate.

    • well I would suggest

go ahead and experiment with both valve settings. But remember don't turn Slave valve too much. every time turn it 1 mm only :D that makes difference. happy experimenting. Nothing goes wrong if you take engine out. Just 4 screws under the body and it's out ;)

    • ok, ill try it later on..

if i want to replace the clutch shoes, do they cost alot?
umm, what happenes if i turn the slave valve to much?

      thanks...

  • Needle Valve

should i put mine like yours
    if we have similar trucks?

By luke.fokkens 1216949517 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • hey mate

Needle valve are customizable depending on your weather, temp and running requirements as well.

So you need to find your requirements and best settings. :)

    • okk

how many turns from the closing point.?

By luke.fokkens 1217023168 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Well for needle valve

I open it completely and then from the top I just turn it in (Close it) as per my needs. You should do it while engine is running. For needle valve best thing to do is start the engine then open or close to check the effects immediately. Slave valve please don't mess with it unless it is necessary.

  • ok..

i just tryed to start it,
i put some fuel in the carb.
the pull start cord, wont extend.
but, it sounds like it wants to start?
im just gunna leave it right know.

    • Well if it sounds like it is going to

start then don't leave it. Start it and see if engine dies in few seconds or after a while. If engine dies, as you mentioned previously, check if fuel is flowing properly. Check lines and leaks. if fuel is flowing well, then you need to set your slave valve. May be your engine is running too rich. Does it spit fuel out of exhaust? if yes, close the slave valve a bit. Always make tiny changes. If there is no visible smoke coming out of exhaust, open the slave valve a bit. Experiment and you will set it right :)

    • and yes

    • which one..

which sscrew is the slave valve?

By luke.fokkens 1217023410 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • okkkkk

umm, right know the fuel is like in parts of the tube, does it need to be completely full?

By luke.fokkens 1217019297 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • well if it spits the fuel

you are running too rich and thats why engine stalls. Close the slave valve a bit. (Slave valve is in the center of the place where the throttle rod is connected). give it a tiny turn clockwise to close. and see if engine runs well and doesn't stall. Your fuel lines should be filled with fuel with no bubbles in between. if you have bubbles coming up in fuel lines constantly, you have a leak somewhere.

  • oh and..

the throttle on the truck where does that need to be set, cause you can set the steering on my reciver
    ??

By luke.fokkens 1216914988 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • There is another

knob on your radio that can set throttle up and down. you can set throttle on it. Sometimes when i need more throttle to start, I use the knob, set it to more throttle, put the truck on a cardboard block that I made for it, so tires will move freely. then start. Engine starts and revs, then I can use knob on my radio to set throttle down to idle speed.

  • another ?

ummm, i am having problems starting
    any tips?

By luke.fokkens 1216906582 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Check if you are priming the engine

right. also check your glow plug. replace if bad. add a drop of nitro directly on the piston n install new glow plug. pull the starter a couple of time. Check glow igniter is fully charged. If all these conditions met, I am sure you will get the engine roaring on the first pull of starter :D

By alishanmao 1216910078 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • ok.

ill try that and see if it works.
if it does ill message you.
oik, how do you know if your glow starter is dead?

      Luke :D

    • We have a small meter with a needle

on the back of glow igniter, it shows us if their is current in the igniter and if the glow plug is good or not as well :)
