but they had some really controversial decisions in their favor. italy had a goal disallowed (i think) and didn't get a clear penalty. totti even got a second yellow and was sent off in that phase. spain even had two goals disallowed. one after a the ball supposedly crossed the goal line. images showed it was some 15 cm away from the goal line. it was a badly refereed world cup overall. belgium had their opening goal against brazil disallowed. i'm still mad about that! what if it had counted? believe me, belgium was stronger than brazil that day
