i always thought there was no possible way for something to fuel its self... i guess it IS possible! just hook up a generator and a turbine to the water spraying out of the hose, and you got free electricity! dang. i should do that.

- Actually it does power itself,
  but unfortunately it does stop after some time. Once the air bottle fills with water it will stop. Mine runs for just over a minute, but some people have been able to make their's run for hours. I plan to make one that will run for at least an hour. Thanks for voting for it Mike!

- Its not a perpetual motion machine.
  It is simply changing the atmospheric pressure placed on the water. The water wil stop flowing when: 1. The water in the top 2 liter bottle runs out, 2. The air in the bottom 20oz bottle runs out, 3. The water in the top 20oz bottle runs out. It is still a neat demonstration of atmospheric pressure changes.

I will never think about this alone. Well done. But a think i got the way to keep it up for more time. You just have to change the places of bottles don't you think?If the up left bottle is small and the down one and up right one are big it will take affect for more time becouse there is more air and more water to be pushed up. Try it i think it will work!

  It is actually part of a new one that I am making. Your idea along with a smaller tube on the outlet should allow it to run at least an hour. This one will take some time to build... :)

  I didn't invent it, I just used my own form with what I had. Alexandria Heron invented this 120 years before Christ was born. (Some say 120 years after) There is limited info out there so if you need a hand just ask me. Let me know how your project turns out!

saw that on TV (Numbers) and was checking it out on the web. The quickest way to make it last longer I can think of would be to slow down the outflow with a smaller nozzle? 5**!

nice but not perpetual motion. Also it is almost impossible to see what is happening because the camera is a little jumpy and well water is hard to see through the tubes. If you make another one please die it green or red so it is easier to see the movement and place the camera so you don't have to hold it.
