I couldn't agree more, especially when it comes to law and order. I mean, what the hell was that stupid b*tch thinking?! Maybe she was a rookie cop caught up in the moment. I teach gun saftey, and she is obviously nervous. The only time your finger should be on the trigger is when you're ready to fire the weapon. The suspect was subdued, and looked to be no threat.

I don't agree with sexism at all. Let me get that straight first up.
BUT, there is a different between basic sexism and the fact that there are some roles generally best left to women and some best left to men.
Any woman happy with a male midwife? I know there's probably a lot of fathers-to-be with a problem.
In the same way, there are roles best suited for men. I'm NOT saying no woman should do them, don't get me wrong. But it is a statistic that female combat/ enforcement injuries are worse. NOT TO THE INJURED, but to those around.
For example, men & women both will tend to pause over the body of a female in combat, be it ally or enemy and this gives a stationary target to be hit, where they just pass a male corpse by.
This is my only issue with female law officers, but in today's society, how much more at risk are they than any highway road-rage victim? So I'm officially NOT saying one way or the other on female police.

If you think only women cops have something to prove, then you must not know any male cops. I don't envy any of them their jobs, but you have to have some issues to want to do the job in the first place. However, if female cops seem a little bit more pushy or a little less nice than male cops sometimes are, it's because they do not have the assurance that men do that a perp is going to respect them. Listen to a perp call a woman cop names sometime - the names are always degrading and in reference to her gender. So, yeah, women cops may have to show a little more attitude sometimes just so they can do their jobs.

Many female cops are there because of lower standards (the academy and departments don't want to boot them out when they have so few female applicants) and/or they have something to prove, etc., and I STRONGLY suspect that the rate of inappropriate shootings is far higher with female officers than males (from what I've seen).
That being said, one of the best officers I know is a woman who was able to defuse situations very effectively by talking to perps, or simply get the neighborhood on her side, etc. Often, the guys had something to prove, and she made better decisions than they.
It's too bad we can't trade the bad ones for more like her!
When there was a patient to talk down we would send a staff member of the opposite sex to confront them. People seem to be less aggressive when they are dealing with a person of the opposite sex and sometimes a woman can discuss certain problems with an upset person better than a man can. There are going to be situstions in police work where a woman can handle the situation better than a man.

In fact, my XBF who is STELLAR at gun safety was firing at the range and he didn't even have his finger on the trigger and it went off while he was talking to someone, holding it pointed down towards the ground and away from everyone's feet. Everyone made fun of him, but I saw it, his fingers were on the side of the gun, not even in the trigger area and it went off.
