NEW YORK (AP) -- The elephants and horses of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus have invaded Manhattan.

The pack of seven pachyderms and about 15 horses paraded through the Queens Midtown Tunnel early Wednesday morning on their way to Madison Square Garden on 34th Street, where they will appear in the ``Over The Top show.

The lead elephant wore a ``I love New York blanket as some onlookers along the route watched the nearly 30-year tradition of marching the circus animals through the tunnel.

The animals were joined by the circus ringmaster and clown Tom Dougherty, a New York City native.

They are expected to perform together in the show that opens March 20 and ends April 6.
