    One small problem champ, when you're holding his gun in every single one of those situations, your hand is on the barrel, and if he/ you fires you're going to get one burnt hand. So say if you are pointing the gun away from both of you, and he fires, i'm not sure how long you're going to be able to hold onto it with a fried hand.

      it will only burn if he holds on, and the worst thing that will happen is tearing of the skin. with the adrenalin pumping, you won't even notice.

      It depends on the type of gun/pistol. If the slide is moved away from the neutral position, it wouldn't fire even if you pull the trigger.

    • Taking control of the "slide"

      of an automatic pistol is the best way to take a defensive grip against the gun. If you practice these techniques, you can get the move down where you slightly push the slide of the weapon backwards, "out of battery" and it will then cease to function when the trigger is pulled, as long as it remains "out of battery". this is not easy to do, but is effective if you can manage it.

    These are solid techniques... chances are, if the criminal hasn't shot you when he first pulled the gun on you, he really isn't mentally prepared to do so... so you may have time, even if he is a few feet away to close the gap, body changing away from the muzzle of the gun, and use these techniques. One thing is for certain. I would rather be shot trying to get control of the weapon, than just stand there and be shot begging for my life.

    OK people....if you're the guy with the gun, and you walk up and place it against your victim, you deserve to have the gun taken away from you. CRIMMS KNOW THIS! So they would NEVER be STUPID enough to get that close to you!
