what makes you so sure that your version is true? I don't see why governments would make up something like global warming, that sounds like a myth to me! I mean I can't see the actual win for those who lobby against Co2, what's their motivation, why global warming? Most meteorologist say there is something like climate change, it's most propably getting warmer over time. And it may also be Co2 helps this situation, who knows for sure, there is actual theory behind this, not just completely made up. You shouldn't hype it, but you should also not completely deny it, really sounds like an excuse to pollute the world.

I am not aware of solids generally having an odour, unless giving off a vapour. Carbon is a wonderful natural solid ( at room temperature and atmospheric pressure), very good for the environment in general. Carbon DIOXIDE is a gas, but lazy people refer to it, without acknowledging its compound status as carbon, in “carbon footprint” etcetera and as far as I know it is odourless, barring halitosis.
