I'm eliminating high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup from my diet for one month from 3/24/08 to 4/24/08. My diet will otherwise remain the same, so will I lose weight, gain weight, or neither? Check back in a month to see.

  • Fructose

I am afraid that you have misunderstood a few things. It is the fructose component that is really bad. Glucose is Ok, Fructose is very bad and bypasses your appetite suppressant system and goes strait to your arteries as fat.
Corn Syrup is mostly glucose so it isn't the problem. However, "Sugar", as in Sucrose (table sugar) is half glucose and half fructose and so is half bad.
Fruitloops and many other cereals are full of sugar and therefore fructose. To do this experiment properly, you need to cut out Fructose. That means, foods with sugar in and HFCS. Buy some brewing glucose or destrose and use that where you would use "Sugar"
