By schumiuygyugi 1155137836 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit's true and sad,
but that was pretty funny
The worker puppets near the end half remind me of sitting image :P
probably the same guys that did spitting image did this?
they exploit cheap laborers.. to make expensive nike shoes..!!
unfair!!
The people are wonderful and enjoy making a liveing for their families. I look foward to going back to my family their and visit for long periods. No I am not Chinese but love their culture, always a pleasure to be in their company and enjoy their way of life.

By AboveAll 1146725930 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe video forgot one thing, most of Nikes shoes are made by children kept in internment, imprisoned by the factories where the shoes are manufactured. Most come from Thailand. the Chinese government also trafficks young girls throughout the world to corporations for slave labor. Yes even in America, you don't have to go overseas, hjust go to the garment district in New York, girls as young as 8 have been found working 18 hour shifts.
By Painter13 1146701084 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat gets me is people like Micheal Jordan. Who has enough money to be considered upper class for a dozen life times. Yet he and other sports stars promote Nike and like cooporations, when it wouldn't cause them to go bust at all if they raised there wages a bit.
I think these sports stars need to see what is going on and stand of for the living conditions of fellow human beings instead of standing up and speaking up for there second or third home.
Jordan bought his symbol from Nike about 6 years ago and started his own company its called Airman maybe you have herd of it. He did this after finding out what nike was doing. So like so many of the people that post here maybe you should get some facts strait before posting.
By grizzb 1146729169 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI tried searching for it and other Jordan stuff and the only thing I could find was the Nike Jumpman line up on the Nike website.
I don't know where you got your facts from but I would like to know because I don't want to run Jordan's name down if he has done what you say he has done.
Jordan is still under contract with Nike, they also helped him get his sporting clothes line started and are part owners. Hey the guy who made the comment on Airman just doesn't want to see his hero as flawed.
By Painter13 1146800936 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI think Grizzb means AirJordan they make all of Jordan's stuff. I'm not sure, but I think it may still be run as a division of Nike, but I can't be bothered to check.
By RozzamaTRON 1151620892 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHere is a considerable solution.
If you think about it should only take about a half hour to an hour of man time to make a pair of shoes. That is 10-20 shoes per worker a day.
If some sort of fair wage agreement was assigned and gave these people an extra $5/day the consumer would only have to pay and extra quarter or 2 on a pair of shoes and these people would have their wage increase massively.
Heck I'm sure people would pay $10 more for shoes if it meant increasing the standard of living around the world.
because they have NOTHING else. when you got nothing , you are greatfull for what every penny you get. every" sweatshop" you shut down, many families go hungry for a long time. yes they work hard for their 10 cents an hour. but 10 cents is worth 10 dollors in the USA. so leave them the fuck alone & let them make a living for their families. funny thing, i have never heard a worker complain yet. in fact all i hear is greatfulness.
By JMO 1146660795 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIs it so hard to understand this clip? It's not about the Chinese who earn their honest living by working! It's about Nike who pays them 20 cents to make a pair of shoes in slavery work conditions, then airs the amazing ads with mega stars showing how super cool these shoes are and sell the damn pair for $100 or more!
Sorry to all who got it right but some people do need the explanation.

By Swanie 1146741002 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewell thank god for Nike and all the other sports shoe. Nike are a company who make money for the owners and share holders. they aren't interested in the social welfare of the workers who make the product. you have never heard anything because you have never been to those countries or haven't watched any thing about the subject. I am guess you dont have a job as of yet or you would feel differently about dismissing the workers needs and desires. Your interest might only extend to you buying the product, which of course you'll want at a good price. But more fool you. If Nike and such are gonna rip off the workers you can be damn sure they are making monkeys out of the likes of you! keep on buying along with the rest of the trendy mugs, by your own validation you are help the 3rd world workforce. Chump """(:)@
By Teddy_bare 1146752588 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeits more like 10 cents in USA = 10 dollars in another country and have you ever did some sort of poll with these workers you speak of, cause if you did and i was close to you i would shoot you myself.
By WicKeDcHilD 1146698776 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDo they really say "thank you"? Do you think it's fair?
