Come one people I agree that his sound may not be very clean, but come on he's just 8!! He knows to play which notes. With more practice and lessons over the years he'll probably do a fine job playing.

Maybe *YOU* don't like it, but that's opinion. The fact is he is very talented in this video, if you think the opposite it's because you do not know what you are hearing. Compare the two and even if you don't like it, you have to acknowledge his talent.

heard of Eddie Van Halen...thats bits of his song "Eruption"... I admit that its a little "broken" sounding... but considering the difficulty of the song and the kid's age.. I give him props

sure he may be good, i dont play the guitar so i have no idea how hard/easy that was, but since i am not a guitarist i can be a good audience member critic, and i have to say i didnt really see anything musical in that, all i heard were a lot of sounds that didn't really string together, the sound was horrible, either it is the guitar being poor quality or the amps or the player i have no idea, but it was pretty painful to watch

but i dont doubt the boy has some skill

To compare him to a professional, I would say he s lacking in music theory and taste. But yeah, he's 8 years old so good for him!

No doubt this kid can play well for his age. I have been playing for 20 years and can clearly see he is playing although a good part of it is standard showboat playing it is good to recognize that the kid is doing this at the age of 8. Still, I almost feel sorry for him. He has all of that talent and is probably just used as a showboat player because he can riff out so well for his incredibly young age. If he was tutored in more jazz and classical playing the world could one day look at this kid as a prodigy. Unfortunately, if I was to compare this playing with a professional adult I would say he DOES NOT make the cut. I am impressed by the fact that he played this well at his age and I confess I did not play that well at 15! This kid could be lucky and get the right person to train him or it could be a waste and he could be OVER glorified as an 8 year old "showboat" prodigy and go no further. All in all I was impressed by his ABILITY for his age...But that is what we are talking about here. I've seen 12 year old's perform amazing performances that were more traditional and to the point. I have no doubt that, this kid couldn't be in the league of those great child prodigies but he does need more training. Hopefully, he will become a great guitarist and he is definately WAY ahead of the game! I enjoyed the video!

Grow up !!!

all he does is shred and he has some technique problems. his tapping S**ks . but yea, for an 8 year old hes pretty good but hes probably been learnin since he was 3 years old. i think da problem is his fingers are too small so he cant play very well on dat Jackson. he needs to learn proper music theory.

this is not fake. he was 12 and is now 16 or 17. he goes to the Paul Green School of Rock in philly and this was with the rock school. hes awesome. i saw him once at one of the rock schools concerts, the works of Jethro Tull, and he is much better than he was in this vid.

Sounds like me when I'm hitting fast random notes for fun... but its true, the kid will grow up realizing speed is nothing if you can't make it sound good. Perhaps then I'll take him more seriously...

you shouldn't go soo hard on the kid he is 8 years old he has alot of time to improv himself yeah that was sloppy but again he 8 years old and he should learn that accuarcy over speed is good

but that music was painful to listen to. He just jumps from artist to artist and plays too quickly for feeling. Only maturity will bring richness and texture to the music he plays.

its not very hard to do those kind of things with an electric guitar. try it on a normal one......

Well, I certainly hope this kid got some good coaching between then and now. Sorry to rip on an 8 year old, but all this kid appears to be learning right now is how to butcher music. Others here say that he is now older and much improved. I hope so. That was ridiculous and anyone that has experience playing guitar would say the same if they are being honest. I've played all my life. I don't expect a little kid to be great, but what kills me as I watch this is that people are all telling this kid that what he is doing is awesome and it's just not. If he's older and better now, more power to him. But that was awful I'm sorry to say.
