i'm a goalkeeper for a university soccer/football team and i know from experience that if you don't protect yourself when faced with a 50-50 ball like in this clip then many times the forward is liable to hurt you by coming into your body as you're in the air. In these situations it's either him or me, and, of course, i would always choose me. The forwards need to know that if they're going to come in for a tackle of that nature that they're risking getting hurt by the keeper. Keepers will always get the benefit of the doubt by the referees as well.
