      Look 1 min 33 secs into the video. I'd never thought I could see a trick, specially not comming from David Copperfield cuz he's the best. I don't know how the whole trick is done but you can see that he pulls his hands in as his lovely assistant closes the flap and then a set of fake hands unfold as the flap closes. What a dissapointment, but none the less, he's still awesome

      It has nothing to do with mirrors, editing or fake hands. When he is being cut in half, there are actually tow guys on the set. David has his knees/legs tucked up under his belly, and this is hidden by his costume/white shirt. The legs are from another very flexible person, whos body is is tucked up under the legs/table. They have done a very good job at hidding this and therefore most would not suspect that each half is from a different person.

      This also is the reason why david is hidden in the box for a moment only to reemerge

      Mystery solved.

      It is a great trick but if you pay attention closely u will make out. Like firstly when he gets into the box he kind of gets in vertically like he is getting into some kinda underneath chamber. Secondly when the camera is on top of him at 1:16 u'll notice that his waist is broader than his chest and thirdly at 1:27 u can surely make out that his chest part is somewhat stuck somewhr.
      Looke closely it is easy to figure out.
      They have done a ggod job in hiding the lower part.

      if u set the video 5 minutes and 12 seconds in, u will see the base of the table start to flicker. this shows that mirrors were used and the sketchy support is due to the angle. ive seen somethin like this b4.

  • The trick is

    Copperfield drives around late at night picking up stew bums and hobos, then he cuts off their lower torso with a chainsaw in the back of his minivan, then freezes the lower half and uses it to complete his illusion. How does he make the legs move you ask? With a car battery and jumper cables cleverly hidden under the platform, the electricity causes the muscles to constrict, when the electricity is shut off the muscles relax, and this is repeated as many times as it will take to fool the audience, but I am not fooled!

  • pretty simple to figure out

    looks like when he steps into the box he goes through a trap and the only body parts above board are his head, shoulders and hands. he trips the mechanical torso, legs and feet to pop up before they reveal his body on the platform. They close him up saw him in two ( the whole time his body is V shaped just like the supports of the table ) mirrors hide this compartment. He triggers the robotic feet to wiggle. Put him back together. he climbs out of the compartment and when he stands up he steps on the trigger to hide the mechanical part of his body. They reveal nothing on the table after the box is opened. The end.

    At :53 seconds when he gets in, he lowers his body under the base.

    At 1:08 seconds, when his assistants move into the center of him, they make his shirt tail cover the 2nd persons lower body, who is covered inside. (Acting as the legs) You can watch him do this with his left hand.

    At 1:31 seconds, he uses the fake hands to give the illusion he is able to escape the hand vice.

    At 5:15 seconds, under the base of the table, you can watch the actual mirror bend, when it moves you see the distortion of the base.

    Smoke and mirrors, movie magic, fake hands, and 2 people hidden.

    if u watch at 128 seconds u can see the box expand and then coem back together very quickly. not something i noticed the first time around because it is so quick. not that i belived this before i found this or read about the other tricks, and i hope no one else did either, but its always fun finding the tricks to the magic.

      It's not illusion nor magic, it's still science. But NOT the everyday science we know of from school. The thickness of the book doesn't reflect the enormous advancements of science since time mankind started looking at it.

      There are hidden science like time-reversing of atomic/molecular state. It is hidden because diseases like AIDS and others can be cured not by the usual commercial medicines, but by time-reversing the present state of a particular molecule back to it's pre-diseased state, so to speak.

      Just look at how he returned to his other half. He didn't try to take short-cuts.
