    it's not fake, it's just good martial arts. an experienced fighter can knock out an opponent with one well placed hit. anyone who's seen a martial arts master fight knows this. in western boxing the objective is not to crack bones or kill, but to literally knock down your opponent with brute strength. this obviously takes longer, and usually does not end in a knock out. eastern fighting is far different. the objective is to immobilize your opponent with speed and technique so that there is no fight. this guy is just a good martial artist.

In case you didn't notice the ring announcer was speaking in english and he said round 1... so one might assume that there were more rounds to come.. one might ALSO assume that this was probably a type of K1 match NOT a martial arts... thing i'm ALSO guessing that the arena would NOT be packed unless they were expecting a fight... (not the speed technique so there is no fight S**t that you were talking about)

      whatever happened there was not insane martial arts... looked to me like an accident and that seems obvious from the way the guy was expecting the one who was out to get back up... and then punched him in the face before he could...

      get over your obsession with the majestic, graceful yet deadly breaking of bones and killing S**t that you think is eastern fighting.. this was just a kickboxing fight... not some fight to death between kung fu masters...

      have you never seen a martial arts fight? that was the fight. that is what people pay to see. a world record KO. they don't pay to stay for 2 hrs. they dont pay to watch two guys grad each other trying to make it look good. no. they pay to see two guys knock the s*** out of each other. and if a world record KO is the result, then they can at least say they were there to see it.

      No one pays for a 2sec knockout. Real enthusiasts like to watch a long fight with good strategy. Nothing against this fight clip though. That was a very surprising attack for the other guy I'm sure. Now, if that other guy was Italian that would not happen ok. Thats what Italians believe anyhow.       With names like bloody, "dark paladin" your obviously not the "cool" guys at school, I'm probobly the only one here who actually HAS a black belt.
      Thats not what your taught to do it ANY style, sure you CAN do it, and thats what he did, he used a move that your supposed to use to knock someone out. But throughout my whole learning of martial arts (Shukirikhan) I've always learnt to bide your time, wait until someone is at their most vulnerable, and what better time than at the start of the fight?
      However, sayign that doesnt mean that the other guy was GOOD, if he was he would have realised what the crazy bitch was doing, RUNNING towards HIM!!

      there has been more brain damage, but less bruising and bleeding since boxing gloves were introduced. in MMA, they don't use the kind of gloves that are used in boxing. people actually punch harder with the boxing gloves because their hands are protected. the padding also cushions the blows, thereby enabling the person on the receiving end to take more punhes.

      I don't know if the guy who won was good or not, the guy who got knocked out was steewpid. You don't have to be a good martial artist to knock someone out with a flying knee. Doesn't hurt when the guy leans his head into it!

      Also, I don't see why you compare Western boxing to what looks like Muay Thai, Kickboxing, or maybe some Mixed MArtial Arts tourney with similar rules to U.F.C.. If anything a good comparison would be this and U.F.C.

      Sure you can put a boxer in a fight with a good MMA with U.F.C. rules and prob 8/10 the MMA practicioner will win, but but a true boxer in with a good MMA practicioner and the boxer will usually win.

      What I am trying to say is you are splitting hairs here. Western style, Eastern style, mixed, in the end it is just who is the better fighter and who makes a mistake like leaning your head into a flying knee.

      it's a risky first move but calculated. he faked the lead knee then struck with the other when the guy reacted. it's the equivilent to what UFC fighters call a Superman Punch. Fake the knee strike to draw the attention then crack em in the skull with an overhand punch.

      This is eastern UFC.

      The guy made a risky move to try a jump knee attack. He was fortunate his opponent DUCKED into it.

      This isn't anything that proves any great skill in martial arts! Just a risky move that paid off.

      I've seen many fighters try this in western UFC. None connected because the opponent was smart enough to dodge. Unlike this guy who ducked into it - he was unlucky.

      The reason why UFC fighters exhange punches is because it is much more SATISFYING to get a knock-out this way. It pleases the crowd immensely and gives you more rep.

      But 80% of fights won in the UFC are made on the ground. Submissions or ground and pound manouvres.

      To say Western Boxing's objective is to crack bones and kill is naive or ignorant. The objective is to score and win. The means of getting a K.O is the most efficient way of winning and that's what they try to do. Boxing is highly skilled and requires quick reflexes and tactics.
      Your opinion is biased and you are looking for any excuse to put down the Western ways.

      I'm asian and I am biased towards asians. But I am still able to respect and appreciate the ways and lives of others.

      this is k1. k1 is also in the west and every other region of the world. flying knees arent that risky, they are rarely as devastating as this, but that still doesnt make them risky. few UFC fighters have world class ground abilities, this is why they punch, not because its more satisifying. on a side note, there is another video of this that shows a slo-mo from behind when the knee lands. for those of you who want to know who it was the guy throwing the knee is kid yamamoto and the poor sap getting ktfo'd is kazuyuki miyata, the event was k1 heros 5.

      It's goverened by Pride rules, but the fight takes place in a K1 tournament.

      K1 = Kickboxing - Elbows (They wear boxing gloves)
      Pride = UFC (No boxing gloves, just normal gloves to soften impact and protect the knuckles)

      k1 is an organization, they have kickboxing events but they also run the k1 heros events, which are mma (mixed matrial arts, meaning standup and ground fighting).

      Pride and UFC are two unrelated organizations that showcase mma fights.

    Anyone who says this isnt martial arts doesnt know anything about MMA. Yes this is probably a K1 show but if its K1 its one of their Hero matches which is pure MMA just like Pride and UFC. Besides even regular K1 is a form of MMA. Anytime you put someone in the ring thats a kickboxing against someone who is a boxer, or does karate, or Sambo or anything other style of fighting stand up or submission its consider MMA or mixed martial arts for those who obviously do not know much about the sport.

      Honestly, the UFC style fighting is in bias toward grappling and submission, due to the restrictions that are placed in the fight. Sure, its supposed to be "hardcore" and all, but a takedown is easily countered by a dual strike to both temples. I dont care how big you are, getting hit in the temples will knock you out.
