the answer is the foil,that is why eventually it burned, the foil amplifies the signal and also the magnetic strips,so you ain't kinda deserve any points sorry.

That is don't hold the phone right next to the pump when I am making a call. Yeah... I do that all the time... no wait I usually step away from the gas smell while it is pumping. As far as I can recall... The gas goes through a rubber hose into a plastic tank... Thats how my vehicle is anyway... Where does the mag strips and foil come into the experiment...

ok just dont make 20 phone calls right next to the gas nozzle and hope nobody put aluminum foin in your tank. you have more ofa chance if you get back in your car then go back to the pump nozzle by static electricity

I doubt this would ever work, I'd wager this was done via some clever editing. It certainly appears as though there is an edit right before the ignition. As has been said already, the true culprit is static electricity.

Heres a fact for you, there has never been a case of a mobile phone igniting fuel in a petrol station. Its never happened.

blowing up at a gas pump was on the show mythbusters, and it will not cause the fire. it was shown that static build up from the person exiting the car, and grounding themselves to the metal, was the cause of the spark, not the phone.....
