  • Worked but...

    I successfully did every thing in this tutorial pertaining to opening the port. Heres my problem. I am downling torrents using uTorrent on my laptop that has wifi and uses my internet on the computer i opened the port on. Will this work? because when i download i still get the red circle with the exclamation point in it not the green circle that says the port is working and stuff. Can and do i have to open the port using my laptop thats connected to the same internet? I dont know, im getting frustrated and dont know what to do! haha

    When I type my Gateway in, I get this log in box, and when I log in, and change the pass like it says to, it says something about a mac... So I just leave it. Idk what that is - but its not what you had. I have crappy Embarq 1mb/s DSL. I really want to get a port, because 50kb/s< isnt cutting it man. =/ Thanks.

      Actually, you enter the default gateway you got in the cmd window into the browser link dialog. The page will display depends on your modem.

  • sweet! except...

    i get to the part when you type in the default numbers in the address bar but it says page cannot be displayed!!! so i've tried every torrent program and everyone says waiting to log in or page cannot be displayed, man it's making me mad!!! help me!!

    • you have to make sure

      the number we type in the address bar( mine is 192.168.1.1 - so called default gateway) is not a fixed number. different ISP you may have different number. Make sure that you did enter the cmd and type ipconfig. Otherwise, ask your ISP

      The important thing is you must open a port and let your client uses that port. If you( or someone) have(has) opened a port, so you needn't do this. If you don't set up a port, the client itself will chose a random port for you

      You can find your ISP's DNS by asking them or try to search on Google. In case you don't have the ID and password to access modem configuration, you must ask your ISP. Good luck
