            I Don't agree with the alleged fundamental reasons for going to war with Iraq (WMD's and the 9/11 links), BUT, I DO agree that Saddam needed to be removed from power for the benefit and progress of the Iraqi people. I just think its a shameful testament to how far we have NOT got as a united civilisation, that we still have to result to blowing eachother up, bombing people into smithereens, shooting people who dont fall into the "right category" and STILL having to result to force to "resolve" problems.

            Apparently, we, the humans, are the intelligent species...

                If it isn't bad enough that America is fighting a war that no-one wants then you go and glorify it. You just can't help yourselves can you. Nobody cares about your ridiculous war. I am an Austarlian and I will be very happy when our troops pull out in July. They should never have been there in the first place. George Bush is just trying to win the war his Daddy couldn't finish. America has spent how many billions on the war. Don't you think that money would have been much better spent helping fix Iraq not blowing it up.

                  If memory serves 45 of the 48 Democrats in the Senate voted for the war. The numbers were similar in the house. The majority of the US population wanted this war. Simply because it made sense. If Bush did nothing, and an Iraqi nuke showed up in a US city, you guys would have lynched him. Rightly so I might add.                   Your banter reminds me of another unpopular war, that cost more in real dollars. This war also cost many hundreds of thousands of American lives. Liberating, or at least helping liberating Europe from the Italians and Germans. And the Pacific from the Japanese. For this sacrifice we received 1. the satisfaction of the just. 2.
