MLB LA Angels @ Texas Rangers Preview

With the Angels top starters John Lackey and Kelvim Escobar starting the season on the DL pitchers like Ervin Santana will have to step up and give the Angels quality starts and burn innings to preserve the Angels ragged bullpen. To his credit Escobar pitched 6 solid innings in both of his starts and sports an ERA of 3.00 and earned a rare road win against Minnesota in his first start. But Santana had a horrible road campaign last season going 1-10 with an ERA of 8.38. The Rangers had to scramble there pitching staff after a rain out forced a doubleheader on Wednesday and reliever Jamey Wright will get the start. Wright went 2-0 versus the Angels last season in 13 innings pitched giving up only 2 runs and 8 hits in 1 start and 3 appearances against the Halos. Texas got to the Angels pitching staff last week putting up 22 runs in their 3 game series. I need more than 1 game to be convinced that Santana can win on the road and I will take Texas at +105.
