The taliban is not in Iraq. Whether "al qaeda" is in Iraq at all is up for debate. If they ever were, by far most of the resistance we're encountering now is from neighborhood and regional sectarian militias (Al Sadr, etc) who are not in any way affiliated with Al Qaeda and are only fighting to repel a foreign invader.
