Cables box, easy to make
nifty

By communityfriend 1208528091 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeidea :) Great job!
By flexichick 1208476514 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFinally, I hide all cables :)
By tsolek 1208367620 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveVery good idea!! ;)
By giannylt 1211473212 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveCoiling an electrical cable produces a magnetic field. If you do this with network cables (or other data lines) it can really mess with your signals.
By Neosapience 1209328478 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeto avoid the field affect other components (screen, speakers, hard drives, etc.).
any ideas what can be used for this?
Great Idea!!! I Need This For Mu Hacking Wires And Music Cables. This Will Come In Handy For All That. Thanks
By kanaka2010 1208505905 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removecool idea,
you should put some spring inside, while we pull out the cables then it should tie it back by force of spring, same like vaccume machines :)

I was wondering what to do with all those old CD spindles
By Atomic Shrimp 1208470877 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks for sharing that!
By Danthemonsterman 1208470041 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI liked alot the trick gonna use it maybe =)
Rated 5 ofc!
I dont get it why the rating is so low?
Anyway 5 stars for you! :)
simple and good 5*****
By ze_zx 1208460120 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethat's really using your recources 5*
By greeenpro 1208458992 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is a great idea if you either wanna start a fire and or just create a hell of alot of interference, Ever headed of electromagnetism. fool! Goto school and do some basic physics.....!!! but well done for being inventive and for recycling!
By sean1983 1208447180 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei think it wouldn't catcha fire, but about interference you are right, the mistake of this video is that he shows many lines all together from diffrent types of current, diffrent types of interfereneces. if it is only one line from one source it is not a problem.
your comment is ok but next time try to be a bit friendly.
thank you
There is power cords running through this box, coiled mains power cables create induction coils which can cause heat over time, eventually ending in fire, specially in a polythene CD container. good concept tho
By sean1983 1208724522 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis looks like a good Idea, BUT it is a fire hazard. You may be surprised at the amount of heat given off from cables. Wrapping cables together in a confined container is not a good idea.
By gustoheat 1208443252 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGustoheat is right. Extreme fire hazard! never coil electrical wires, thats basic fire prevention knowledge. At least dont do it with your power cables. You might get away with shielded CAT-5 or USB but your better off running a daisy chain.
By jayjomofro 1208455088 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removecould you punch a vent and attach an 80 or 92mm case fan to the top of the case? I guess you could run a molex plug to the box. I think the only cable you wouldn't want coiled in proximity with others would be the A/C supply.
By gonzo409 1208451671 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYeah I suppose you could attach a fan, but I'm still not sure that would make it safe. And as sean1983 says you will still have interference from the electromagnetic current that would be coming from it. But it does still LOOK like a good idea and 10/10 for thinking of it, alas, not all good ideas are safe.
By gustoheat 1208455489 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou are very creative 5*
By MaKeNzY 1208434891 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeman i been having problems with cables for years and i havent thrown out those cd things i always thought id find a use for them and you just showed it to me lol thanx for sharing
By UVAsteve 1208404336 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNow THAT is practical recycling.
By Hoopajoo 1208381583 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell done! but please beware
when you coil up cables it creates heat because of induction especially cables with mains voltage flowing through them, I made a similar thing myself but it's bigger with air holes top and bottom to help keep it cool
If you know electronics you would know that this would cause a magnetic field something that is not good around computers and or monitors or TV's. When you coil electrical wires it creates a field in which you can loose definition and other problems.. All in all its up to you. Have fun
By Logan007 1208535492 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is a bad idea.
Buy coiling all of the wires together like that, you are essentially creating a big coiled magnet, if you have little things like, oh, I don't know wifi or a ray tube monitor, you may start running into interference.
Great idea for cleaning up a mess, but functionally not so good.
5 stars
