Real ale, cask conditioned ... It's a live product. Live, you say? Quite. You see it still has some of the yeast that turned the malt sugars into beer remaining in the cask. In fact, those leftover yeast helped give the beer its gentle carbonation, not to mention some other enjoyable qualities.

Some folks think real ale – cask conditioned – is just about the best way to enjoy beer. We agree. And the Philadelphia Real Ale Festival, the final event of Philly Beer Week 2008, was where you could enjoy unique beers of the Delaware Valley. If you missed it, you missed a lot.
