Nice vid but no boom
300 ft. off the ground and maybe moving at 500 knots. Just water vapor your seeing. If that jet actually was moving at the speed of sound, you would not have filmed so clearly and you would all be dead or in the hospital. Sorry, no sonic boom involved.

The cause
As an aircraft aproaches the sound barrier, there is a build up of air pressure. Whaen the aircraft reaches the sound barrier, that pressure condenses the moisture in the air that is around the aircraft. That is the ring around the aircraft. It is a common phenomena that occurs in any area with high humidity.

That is the sound of an aircraft breaking the sound barrier. i know this because i was in the military and i seen this happen many times
