  Recycling doesn't mean melting and remaking the same thing, it means re-using.
  
  Instead of dumping the bottle, even if we are putting it in a recycling bin, these are productive things we can make out of that 2L bottle.
  
  Funny you use the metric Litre and the Imperial Inch though. :P

  .. is not the same as reuse, in my definition. If you, after using the bottle in all the smart ways, dump it in the nature or on a garbage heap, you haven't recycled it. That happens when you return it for proper reprosessing. Then you avoid the need for making new plastic, which is the purpose of recycling.
  Btw; I did not mention liters and inches. :-)

No doubt we should all do our part. But don't you think global warming is a symptom to a much deeper problem? Don't you think we should aim our energy to bettering ourselves by becoming less self centered and more devoted to helping others? I think that is the heart of the problem.

  that is what this makezine video shows one way of doing. Just, it is not recycling, it is re-use. And the best of the 3R is -- reduce (the waste), do not buy water in bottles but use a good filter on your faucet. Less schlepping, too.

2 liter bottles 2/3rd full of water and put in your freezer. They will freeze into giant ice blocks and keep your freezer from having to work so hard to keep it cold.
Especially good if you don't have a lot of stuff in your freezer.

  Pot is a all natural (or usually is) and if people would smoke it instead of tobacco, the world would become greener. Its only illegal and cant be sold because its all natural, we cant tax it.

Hey Nice Vid Kip. My Fave Was The Toilet One, This Can Also Be Helpful In case Of An Over Flow. Just Remove The Bottle Before It Fills Up To The Top And Less Water Will Come To The Top.
