For those friends who are interested in the subject, this martial art discipline is called "KRAV MAGA" (and not Kung-Fu) which is created in Israel for the Israelen Army and thought in Israel and in special anti-crime Units. The discipline consists of many different martial arts and currently probably the most effective self defense and protection discipline in the world.

Of course the friend above Man vs S&W is right about his claim, but is about increasing the chances to an acceptable level and the KRAV MAGA has proven its validity countless times :-)

If your not against a knife expert sure do w/e the hell he just did. If he is a knife expert do some sort of kick into his knife hand, pray he doesnt stab you and if your fealing lucky go in for a punch, otherwise...GTFO!!!

Provide in slow motion so that we can learn.

These techniques are really not useful against a real opponent, who will not just let you play with his knife hand. Better to take advantage of the attacker's fixation on his knife -- "stomp kick" his front knee, push the knife arm out of the way and give a palm-heel strike to the head, then worry about removing the knife.

That little dude trains a whole lot of law inforcement officers. I've seen him once before pretty impresive.

Nice technique... however if the person attacking knows how to fight with a knife, he won't be carrying it in the front arm, he'll be holding it on the second arm... protecting it until proper time... I know some martial arts, and they warn you about this…

I really think depending where you are you could throw sand,dirt or some kind of object into his eyes, i heard a 65 year old lady sprayed perfume in the eye of a snatch thief and it blinded him a great deal of time for her to yell for help and run away. A ladys pocketbook is an arsenal of weapons, just about everything in it and the pocket book can be a weapon. and the last thing i ever want is to get my eye stabbed by finger nails(long ones),

it's good to know such things but it is hard to put them in practice in real situations

you do have to admit his moves look pretty kool.

just kik the attacker in the nuts and heel collapse then take the knife from him. Simple. should'nt be that complicated.

how often do people come after you with a knife anyway??? Yeah.... pretty much never.Get a life and learn something useful.

The tactics are tried and true. Knife attack is probably the most common 'spur of the moment' attack you will experience. I was fascinated with the fact that the instructor in this video looks almost bored with the demonstrations, and gets a bit more physical in his moves about half way through. Nice teaching though.
