By iguanasgr 1152894680 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewent out with a friend from memphis for his first jet ride. yeah he didnt pass out. . . he hurled in the canopy on the barrel roll. never flew in a high speed military jet again. damn shame cuz it looks like fun minus the blackouts.
By J-ust B-een S-een 1147407129 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyet
and he's chewing gum 'cause he thinks that'll keep his ears from popping a bit too hard
once he learns to use his leg, arm etc muscles to keep the blood from leaving his little head, he'll be ok
I asked myself for a while: "Where is his oxygen mask?" Doesn't he need such a thing while flying in there?
By Conan Edogawa 1152311267 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou don't need an oxygen mask unless you rover 10,000 ft. i work on that and their seat. it S**ks .
By yaboi40 1177713562 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is a news reporter being introduced to the Navy's blue angels. They do not wear G suits because the inflating air bladders in the suit could cause slight movements in the arm and legs, and this would be bad during a tight formation! This video is taken from the discovery channels special on the Blue Angels.
By cjski21 1164028832 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebut have you seen their training?!?!?!?!?!? damn!!!

By tricks 1147846890 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBUT FIGHTER PILOTS ARE LEGALLY ALLOWED TO USE AMPHETAMINES, TO HELP THEM STAY AWAKE! AND HOW THEY USE IT!
By boyet99 1158177757 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeby tightening the diaphram and taking quick short breaths, a fighter pilot can control his blood flow to a point, this allows them to pull high Gs for a short period of time without passing out. Pilots have not been allowed to take amphetamines since the 70s. Even back then it was not techicaly "allowed"
By cjski21 1177794179 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removenew g suits auto regulate their blood flow to the extremities. they were unavailable in the late 70's.
By lucky_88 1147635155 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveEVEN IF HE WAS WEARING A G SUIT HE WOULD STILL BLACK OUT IF HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO USE HIS MUSCLES
By nachalnik 1148393356 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removea g-suit usesur muscles for you so to speak. it does what tightining up your muscles would do. puts pressure on your legs so blood stays in your brain. now in the negative g case it don't do S**t !!!
By yaboi40 1177713458 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeto bring women on the aircraft, make them kneel in front of co-pilot and fix their plumbing? If so, which air force is that so we could join?

Say "Hook" but stop at the "K".
It sounded like it was more of a propeller than a jet engine. LOL the Gs are taking him out so badly.

By bluedestiny 1153858467 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis guy, Steve is flying in Blue Angles #8. This is a publicity ride that the Angels do with media and local dignitaries. Look at the helmet. It's Blue Angel Blue also; the gold visor is a dead giveaway. During high G maneuvers, even with the G-suit on you need to know how to flex the extremities and grunt (believe me, it helps). Steve is a very lucky guy. Not many folks get to ride with the Angels
By ozr1 1153449257 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removelets hope he never gets 2 fly 1 of them 4 real!

By tom-b 1150139923 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveJoin a local Air training corps near you (ATC). It's a insight on what kids can get out of the RAF. Even go flying with you in control! I have also experienced G-Force in a Tutor...but nothing like this. Try it!
As Obi Wan Kenobi said: The force only works on the weak minded.
I'm going to, They'll hopefully let me fly for the university eventually.

By bucknerbunch 1147829769 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehe pilot did his, it tightens up around you body so the blood will stay in your head during G force
By drfox 1147711527 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou really have to experience big Gs for yourself to understand the true feeling. I flew sailplanes back a few years ago. While a sailplane (glider) is pretty much one the opposite end of the spectrum from an F-18, you can still feel Gs pretty bad. We did stalls (my instructor and I) and after a couple times of stalling and falling (negative Gs) then big positive Gs when leveling out, I was done for. I didn't really feel like passing out, I just got really motion sick. I've always had motion sickness problems. This guy doesn't really seem to look sick though(yet).
By Puck90a 1147647909 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSuprised he didnt choke himself been stupid enough to chew on gum will doing something like this.
By ChewingGum Hater 1147626541 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit keeps you rears from poppin. our CO does it all the time and gives us some before we launch em out.
By yaboi40 1177713801 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewho is crazy to chew a gum in a situation like this :P
By Hamed_8 1147653329 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removepretty intense.. I wonder how much G he was experiencing to pass out like that?
By sliq1 1147569219 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe few I met at Pax River did not wear Flight jackets like Air Force pilots. These jackets have pocket of air in the legs that inflate during hard G turns, keeping the blood in your upper body and brain. You hear the pilot say flex your legs, same reason. Once the blood stops flowing your lights are going out.
By americanjock30 1147564235 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethey got flight suits on which is like the greenish version of navy coveralls
By yaboi40 1177713845 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI think thats why they made oxygen masks. Is it not?
there aint no oxygen up there and the cockpit is damn near all closed off. if any y'all got questions lemme know. i deal with they oxygen ejection seats and the pressurization. and the canopy for ejection.
By yaboi40 1177713944 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHe passed out because there was not enough blood was getting to his brain.
By markstuart44 1147561629 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHE BLACKS OUT BECAUSE OF LACK OF NORMAL BLOOD FLOW TO HIS BRAIN NOT BECAUSE OF LACK OF OXIGEN IN HIS BLOOD
By nachalnik 1148393895 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe guy is a commentator and this is his first flight he couldn't handle the g force what was about 9G
everybody knows 1 g and your body becomes te double of yur normal weight
you need to know what you are talking about first. 1g is what you are feeling when stationary so you feel the same as normal i have pulled some G's so i know this stuff. also an F 18 would take more than 9 Gs in a combat manuvere so blowing up wouldn't happen only uppon the other plane
By chaostheory89 1148411326 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove1 G being the force due to gravity as you are stationary on the earths surface, When you accelerate it takes time for your body parts to accelerate to the same speed as the plane, its not G(ravity) as the name misleads, just force due to the plane accelerating you. Theses are just increments of force equal to that caused by earths gravity stacked. 1 G on the moon would be severely smaller. It will still act on you wether you feel it or not, 0 G means you float.
By Eladkit 1151790448 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeran out of his head, thats why he kept passing out
By word 1147534169 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI dont think he was ready!!!
By Plastic monkey 1147525619 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat a great clip! The pilot must be very tough, he doesnt sound stressed at all as the other guy keeps passing out. Thx man.

By shineS 1147401617 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI love the way his eyes just roll into the back of his head as he passes out.
Funny footage, good clip Coolsam.
Evidently his G-suit was not fitted to him well.. drained the blood right out of his head.. Turned blue.. Head ache...
Thats right!
By Scarface2007 1147540331 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI envy those fighter pilots, I wounder how much the captian, flying the F-18 , had passed out in the past. Practice makes parfact. and thats what leads to support more then 6G when flying those high speed jets. I Like to fly on high speed jets but G's are my worst fear.
By uridan 1147817548 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFrom what I have heard, most new fighter pilots pass out in the begining of their fighter training, but over time they become conditioned to deal with it. When I was in the AF, I looked forward to getting my ride in one of the jets I worked on for so long. I always listened out for the experienced guys advice about flying to prepare myself. Then, just when my time came to get a ride, I went to the war instead. No time for joyrides then. Not saying I LOVE war, but I never regreted missing my ride for a second.
