2 problems...
Ok first, ice floats, thus when the ice melts just enough to be clear but not enough to release the mint, the trick will be blown. Secondly, if it takes a while for the ice to melt, chances are the person has consumed some of the soda in the cup; when the mint was released into the liquid, it would just bubble a little and flatten the soda. The cup used in the video appeared to be filled to the very brim of the cup.... seriously, who does that in real life?

- No problems
  Most people use lots of ice, or at least enoough so that som e will be pushed down by the ones on top. When you pour coke onto ice it melts the ice, unless the coke is really cold already (in which case you don't need the ice), so it is alos possible that the diet coke will start to fizz up while they are pouring the coke, which is stille funny, if not it won't take but a minute or two (and they won't have drunk the whole coke by then.
