    Just wondering, how long do dandelions last after they have been picked? because if this is long enough you could even pre-pick dandelions as an alternate to kindling.

      I haven't kept dandelion fluff yet, but I do keep cattail fluff for demos. In either case, primitive living folk always harvest dry tinder as they travel about so they have a reliable source when needed. I think the dandelion fluff could be kept in a water tight baggy for future use, on or off the stalk. The ferrocerium strikers work best.
