By elbowjoe 1150548197 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removesounds like a deceptive logic. if someone's good at something you say they have talent. if they aren't you say they must have 'learned' how. so if anyone has ever 'learned' something to the point of seeming talented, you wouldn't even know. i'm not trying to be very critical, just trying to point out a flaw in the logic. i play the guitar quite well, self taught and got to the point of performing at my university. by your definition you would probably say i have talent but i remember when i first started and i sucked and thought there was no way i'd get better. i also remember practicing and practicing and practicing until my fingers literally bled. at one point people stopped saying i was learning to play the guitar and they said i had talent. i set goals for myself and knew what i had to do in order to be considered 'good'. i'd say i'm still learning, but i did get past the point of 'convincing' people that i had talent. ask any professional who makes a living off of their talent and they'll tell you you've gotta keep practicing, especially the fundamentals.

The key to the whole talent thing is that it is effortless to do a particular thing. For example, I know someone who had a natural talent with horses, and from the start, jumped up on a horse and could ride like they were one. Me however, had to take the long route, and learn how. after much much practice I did learn how to ride like I had done it my whole life. But I tell you what, it was a great effort, with many sores and bumps and bruises. So I will maintain my statement of 'talent' vs 'learning' . In conclusion I will say that I never had to 'learn' how to draw, it came natural. OH ,I guess I should also say that there is a difference between having talent, and being talented. The latter meaning that you have given much practice to a thing that you seem to possess a natural talent for it, I didn't have the patience to pursue the guitar to ever be able to play it.

Seems that I remember in early grade school that some persons seemed to have certain 'gifts'... maybe that was Big Brother trying to control our destinies so that we would grow up to be what they wanted us to be? There has to be something in us when we are born that becomes apparent as we age, that drives us to want to become a writer, musician, singer, builder, engineer, etc.Trouble is a lot of people are told when they are young, "Thats fine to do that, but better pick something that you can 'make a living at'". As for schooling, for the most part, I only found that they wanted to teach me to draw like they did, or thought I should. I'm sorry , but I still believe that there is a big difference between doing anything naturally on your own, and being taught how to do it.

We are, to day it has been 2006 years, 7 months and 1 day since he was born, for example. God is not counting. He's more powerful, so if you obey Him and the law of the country you are in, you will be graceful, then He will bless you with a gift, you will be talented, and he will reveal Him self to you, and finally give you the power to create irrationally, people will be amazed. I am amazed to see this guy play, now I know how other felt when they saw me play, I am amazed once again and honoured. This is amazing, whether u give credit to the guitarist shown or not. However, for the record, I think that he is amazing and i can say that a player who is in the music industry. It is most probably overdubbed,as he has no sound input close to him such as headphones, to hear the background, but it is a fantastic rendition.
Whether Pachelbel would be happy i dnt knw, but it isn't his time, this is the 21st centuary... HELLLLLOOOOO!!!
Anywayz this is really great material anyone know if i can get in contact with this guy and maybe do a couple of my gigs with me and he could teach me some of the techniques he uses.
