  • BOTH look like

    ...dummies to me. Certainly the 'doll' dangling, but even the guy doing the cutting looks to be a few cards short of a full deck. Maybe working on the power lines without rubber gloves for too long, in the lightning rain, and a 9-iron strapped to his belt.

    i am from Cd. Obregon, Sonora MEXICO i work in comision federal de electricidad and i do this maneuver constantly, we use ropes to climb the pole for safety and when this mistake happends to me automaticly i still hanged upside down but i didnt fall off

    Of course it was a training on rescue of an electric worker from above. What happend the rope that was holding the dummy up when cut rapped around the rescuer and pulled his feet off the pole.

    Electrians, or pole workers, use a body belt with strap around the pole, and spikes on there boots to keep them up. Remove either on and you see what happens after that. Typically during such training there will be mats on the ground because this type of things happens all the time. Why you heard the laughing.

    I am a Safety Inspector and I am a certified trainer and have seen this training in action. Very good, do to live wires, most fire and rescue are not trained for such an accident.

  • The boss was right

    The problem in emergency training of any kind is to add enough stress to simulate not only the physical situation, but the mental and emotional stress. Having someone heckle you in such a situation isn't exactly what would happen in the "real deal", but it adds to the stress and confusion. Good training!!!!

    I've seen this training done before. It used to be a timed rescue, but I believe they have changed that to focus on a more successful rescue than that of a fast one. A change for the better as the video shows.

    This is a rescue simulation training. The dummy was an electrocution victim and the man in the hard hat was supposed to rescue the victim. Obviously he failed
