By Legend of Zelda 1156559735 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIn a fight a skilled fighter will be able to think about what hes doing and will be able to think about where he has to hit his targets. in street fights everyone will fight and just throw punches because there not really all that skilled. this type of fighting this guy does is REAL get it through your head its very real as well as him using his chi energy most of you people are just to damn stupid and are controlled by the F'ed up society and media. another thing is in movies its obvious whats not real but alot of it is all real possible techniques and moves. its sad i wish i didnt even have to tell most of u all of thismaybe in time some of you can grow up and get out of your wholes and be a little more open minded.
By lycansouljahh 1150445481 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou only said one smart thing in all those words. "In a fight a skilled fighter will be able to think about what hes doing and will be able to think about where he has to hit his targets." It's funny you use the term fighter and not ninja or some other stupid term for someone who knows martial arts. I do though argee with some of the things you said, but just not the point you were trying to make. It's all about how skilled of a fighter you are. I know people who never had any type of training that do many things that people are tought in class. Why? Because they found out what works and if they turn their hips at the right point it will make them swing a lot harder. I could do on and on, but odds are you will not really read this. You may glance at enough to make some half ass attempt at putting me in my place. But that's not really reading what I wrote. You should follow your own advice and be a little more open minded and maybe grow up just a tad.
One last thing. Most martial arts are nothing more then a type of dance. It's wasn't ment for fighting as much as for showing people how to control their mind and body. Don't believe me? Well do a little research. Most martial arts were formed by monks. Those who did not fight unless there was no other choice and they only did that when attacked. They also respected everything in life and watched animals. They way they moved and fought. Then started to use some of those moves in a spar, hence the whole monkey style, tiger and dragon.
Maybe this little insight may help but more then likely not. Da-Well....
I'd just liek to comment on one of the earlier comments, about Bruce Lee's one inch punch. It wasnt HIS, it was the Wing Chun one inch punch. And no, it's not a super powerful move. What the one inch punch is, is a demonstration. A demo that we do not need room to be able to inflict damage. I've been training in Wing CHun for a while now, and the more I learn the more I see that Bruce Lee WAS a great fighter, but was not a very good Wing Chun practitioner. But hey he could beat my ass if he were alive, so i stil respect him.
By yuenyun 1150842759 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebruce only completed the first form of wing chun and some bits of the second form, and bits of the wooden dummy, then he was off to america.
bruce lee was at the forefront of what is now classed as mixed martial arts, jeet kune do (intercepting fist way ) or use what is useful and reject the useless, is pretty much what everyone is doing now, but in there own individual way. he never intended on people copying what he did, he wanted them to express themselves in there own individual way.
its a shame really, bruce lee seems to get alot of stick from some people, and all he was trying to do was educate people in martial arts.
just my pennies worth :)
but inch force is not only in Weng Chun. At lot of martial art oso really for the close battle level, which u are right~ Ba Ji chuan, Xing yi quan's tiger palm (dunno how to translate).. etc.but all are practicing the explosion of close range. and bruce lee used to be practicing weng chun. but lately create something he called Jeet kune Do.~~~ But all martial arts are a family~ reaching the same level~~
By jacksub 1152142590 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveReally the application of fa-jing or explosive force is what the advanced martial artist investigates. However, fa-jing isn't everything, I like peter ralston's view, see cheng hsin.com. to be able to meet any real or reality with an most apprpriate response or interaction is the real goal any practinioner of the arts should attain, humans aren't made of metal and are easily harmed, love and peace, are our natural powers. Like bruce lee said why not get a 45 cal and bang! He's dead. it's easy to kill. not so easy to heal.
By rureal 1155104575 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI was under the impression Bruce Lee was the originator and practioner of Jeet Kune Do, not Wing Chun.
By caseh 1151446160 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes, Bruce Lee made up his own style from many martial arts. He also took things from dancing, gymnastics and many other things besides martial arts. That was the point of what he did. He only trained one person in his art besides his son was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the only reason he did that was because he found it a challenge to teach someone who was that tall. People told Kareem that he would never be able to do kung fu because of his height. So Bruce Lee trained him.
Now Bruce was a master in many forms of martial arts and every knew that. Hence why people wanted to fight him. It war more of a respect thing. Not so much for him as much as they wanted to take his away and to be knowen as the best. Then when he started to act many people (at that time) lost much respect for him because he in a sence sold out (for lack of a better term).
Just dropping a little insight.
Yeap I said what I did because the guy who posted before me said Bruce Lee originated Wing Chun. He edited his post after I made my comment, check the dates on the posts. No insight needed, Ive seen the documentaries and read a few books on Bruce. :)

just because u all have absolutely no ideea about martial arts does that mean that they are not effective??? u need to be reminded that martial arts were developed at first for actually fighting and applying them in wars... where ppl fight for theyr lives..not for money or fame...so they better be effective... and also Martial arts were developed as a way to evolve spiritually...
i was reading comments about aikido demonstrations ... probably written by the same ppl as here...
do you think that ufc fighters move fast??? LOL
first of all..u will never see a real master fight... especially in an organised fight..never... real masters don't have to proove anything to anyone... ever.. xcept maybe to themselves...and not by figthing,,,,
u say that targets have to be stationary? lol...all u watch are movies like this one with actual demonstrations ... not real fights... and then u act like u know everything...
U ALL ARE PATHETIC... REALLY...
i believe b/c ive been through my master mark vell he learns and studys this system he is married and has a kid but when i was young thats when he really trained me concrete knuckle push ups finger pushups everything to strengthen ones mind body and soul its up to the martial artist to push him self pass that little plateau..the boundaries of selflessness
By spawnzfury 1169485958 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDont think its bullshit until you are actually hit by a martial aritst. The pressure points are real as you and me. I remember the last time I was hit by a true martial artist ( he spent almost his whole life for martial art ) I passed out and only gained my counsiousness when he relax me by hiting another pressure points. I absoloutely believe the inner strength and pressure points do exist. After all, martial art is the science of thousands of years. We should at least respect it. If someone need an example of a true martial artist, I think Bruce Lee is a good example. If he fight for UFC, I think he is the one who can be undefeatable.
Looking through these comments, I can't believe how narrow minded people can be. China is the oldest civilization today that still practices its ancient practices. If experience is the best teacher, then China has been studying far longer than any other country.
And to those who doesn't think it would work in a real fight, then ponder on this. The body has hundreds of pressure points and you don't need your target to be standing still to hit one. Just by squeezing on point on your wrist will incapacitate that hand. Another hit to the chest and the diaphragm can be stopped. And that guy moved pretty fast so start opening your mind to things unfamiliar to you.
Just because you don't know about something doesn't make it useless.
Time is the best teacher! Unfortunetly, it kills all of it's students
By FotF 1148546530 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat didn't convince me that it would work in a fight. Its just another one of those unproven theories that you people like to pull out of your ass.

you keep being narrow minded, that's okay. It's proven 10000 times that this excist. Look at this darn video. Look at Bruce lee movies, then you will see how fast these guys really are. This guy is damn fast and knows exactly what to do.
Read more books and history becouse you obviously are so narrow minded that you don't "believe" in this stuff.
You believe in the evolution theory don't you?
I watched some Bruce Lee videos all I saw was him standing their punching stationary objects, movies are movies, theyre choreographed ffs.
Btw did you hear about the kung fu "masters", yes those people who could smash layers of bricks, do fancy flying kicks and all that crap, they all got knocked out in the first round, battered, against Muay Thai fighters, most of them could not even land a single blow.
search for MASTER on metacafe and watch this kid punch some other kid to the ground without being hit once.

By booyakasha 1159505714 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveRight, there seems to be a lot of Chuck Norris worshippers here - damn straight! Don't get me wrong, he is an excellent martial artist but Bruce Lee would simply one-chop Chuck Norris in the teeth, nuff said. As for the guy in this video, he's about as hard as my left beanbag and let me tell you: that has a lot of soft squishy bits! Haven't these student guys discovered wheetabix yet? I'ts full of ass-whooping grainy stuff.
Martial arts are cool, no one's going to deny that. So there's no reason for all of the hocus pocus fakery nonsense. There's no magic point where this guy shuts down your chi. That's what Xena used to do. He's no slouch, obviously, but this stuff is fantasy.
It's like when studio audiences pretend to be amazed by magic, or hypnotists.
I study Tai Chi and my teacher/master and his grand master...all can support this. It is awesome when seen and felt.

Actually this guy's expertise in the video was originated a very long time ago in China even before Shaolin kung fu was born. That master back then also developed "Tai Chi".
If you are slightly educated and know a bit asian history, you'll find that tae kwan do or karate and other forms were transformed from the Chinese Kung Fu. Why? Because China, Japan and Korea were all originated from same ancestors.
And people who said this can't be put into real fight. I assume you don't believe in accupunture, which is so broadly used now a days in medicine, and massage therapy? Ever think of why you feel so relaxed after a massage? It's because the right pressure points was pressed on the body. So why can't there be pressure points on your body that make you feel uncomfortable? A common pressure point to list that most people would experience will be the point where you hit your elbow sometimes and your arm goes numb.
So keep on throwing your fists, which is all you will know in a fight, your lost!

is called " Dian Xue" in mandarin, " Dim Mak" in Cantones, it means pressure point punching. There are numerous pressure points on one's body when properly hit, a person can fall unconscious instantly. "Chi" means internal energy. Through years of practice from a true "chi" tearcher, one 's body can become very strong, that's why Shaolin Monks can break a spear with their throats, break a stone with bare hand. Most people in China now are practicing "chi" just for health purposes, not as a martial arts.

It,s not about hurting people but is a way to defend one self from people like you guys out there who thinks about guns and all. I hope one day you will get to feel the true power striking onto you and you will believe it...Not about some stupid cage!!!! It doesn't make ou more a man...Be smart, be calm because you would never know who you,re asking for trouble from and you will get hurt so bad that you wish you would take back what just came out from that mouth of yours. I,ve seen with my own eyes. one guy can take out eight easily and the rest were on the floor saying sorry...some were crying in pain so THINK before you talk I would love to have your face in front of me when you say this..I would not hurt you bad but just one strike to put you down.

By JKT 1151858334 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeenergy. You see some mental people on these Martial arts programs and they all belive in Chi energy. Also the 1 inch punch wasn't Bruce Lee's but to build up the energy you do use Chi.
Try this! Chi is found in the blood, or thats what we are meant to believe. Punch a punch bag as hard as you can. Then build up your Chi by doing this- Holding your arm straight up, swing it round like a windmill anticlockwise, from 90 degrees straight up and then pointing to the floor and then back round. Do this quite a few times until you can feel your hand getting stronger. Then whack that bag as hard as you can. The Chi in the blood, as you swing your arm round like a centrifuge more blood enters your hand so your hand has more Chi energy in it. Therefore your punch has more energy, and as a result you punsh harder. Plus you feel more powerful after you do it, werid huh!
"Chi is found in the blood" hahahahahah. Gullible.
And not weird but simply adrenaline.
toptip, it's true, adrenaline is a powerful chemical. But you are misled to believe Chi is simply adrenaline. Go study true Tai Chi Chuan for a few years and you will begin to see the true subtle power of Chi.

By Edwyn 1150649676 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAsian martial arts, most of them tried to reach this kinda level, like bruce lee's one inch punch, and the video "fast hitting" which a guy smash some tiles without moving much of his hand, Aikido has the same common goal, to focus body force into small point then release it. This is bright force (direct translation from chinese.. abit odd for the name), and a deeper level called shadow force (hahah sounds like ninja army's name) which doesnt not required movement but touch to use the force. Rumor said Bruce lee only achieved Bright force, but unfortunately died when he tried to start on training the shadow. The problem of asian marshal art was in the old time the master usually will reserve some final move without passing on to the apprentice, becoz one to remain as master, second dun wan his/her student to kill them. Therefore, it is rare to see this kinda of stuff and hard to believe.
By jacksub 1150619730 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAikido cannot be compared to any other martial art, soley due to the fact that it is purely defensive. You simply learn to turn your opponents against them WITHOUT force, in effect breaking their balance and rendering the attack useless. The thing about concentrating body force into a small point is bulls*it
