Muay Thai Vs. Taekwondo

  • Hmm....

I practice Muay Thai myself and you have to admit the sheer force behind its strikes, and I'm glad the Muay Thai fighter won. However, to be perfectly honest, the TKD fighter sucked. You'd think after the third time of catching a kick to the thigh he'd try to protect it more, but alas...

Also, I think a Muay Thai fighter would do fine in UFC if he would train in Jujitsu aswell to improve the ground fighting (I'll admit Muay Thai isn't made for grappling). But that's just my opinion, so go ahead and 'OMGZ! MUAY THAI SUCKORZ' about it.

lol the thai boxer was owning the taekwondo user with kicks only, he's obviously way better and no conclusion about fighting styles could be made from this movie at all

cant you see... the kid which was fighting TKD style... was mearly a red belt... thats nothing.... now, we dont know how good the muay thai guy is, but, that is not enough info to say that TKD S**k i know my friends in the TKD academy, (including myself....(second degree black belt) could kick his ass).

  • TKD - Red Black Belt Doesn't Matter

"TKD" is a joke. Midnight Shadow is a 2nd degree black belt..... so what. At my MMA gym we had an 8th degree black belt walk in, and try ot sparr in the ring with a 40+ year old guy that shows up twice a month if that. He's athletic, but has no real Mui Thai technique.
He embarressed the TKD guy before the first minute of the round was up, and didn't go a second round on account that he was owned the entire time.
BTW, this 8th degree Ninja Master is the owner and head instructor of the biggest TKD academy in the Houston area.
Now, if a TKD guy went against a Thai fighter who liked using the clinch, or any knees for that matter, you'd be carrying the TKD fighter off to the Hospital.

  • The TKD guy was S**t

Everyone can see the TKD guy got owned. The rules seemed to be well mixed, no elbows or knees but they allowed kicks below the belt. I would like to see really good fighters from both. I do TKD but my feelings is that the muay thai guys would probably get it because they are stronger and used to harder contact

  • Red Belt

The TKD fighter doesn't even have black belt witch means he's not an very advanced fighter and maybe have very little experince..

The TKD fighter in this movie was not very skilled at Taekwondo. He can had a red belt for Poomse, becouse in the WTF taekwondo you can have very low skills and have black belt in short time.In real Taekwon-Do (ITF) is diferent

    for Tae Kwon Do.

  • Crap

The TKD person was a RED belt. That is nothing. They are not that experienced. There are so many more attacks that he could have use and he did not. He did not even punch. I know that TKD is known for its kicking but they also punch, elbow and knee. This was setup for Muay Thai that is all. Propaganda at its best. Ha ha ha.

  • just a think every martial artist should...

just a think every martial artist should know that if a thai boxer want to fight taekwondo player he should keep short distance if he fight boxer he should keep far distance so if he didn’t do that he will lose, and if taekwondo player have to make the distance far between him and the boxer or the thai boxer because he is perfect using feet.

By thai kickboxer 1147461112 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • for example

for example if a boxer fight taekwondo , if the boxer made the distance close because we all know that no one can kick with close distance , the taekwondo player would lose the fight but if the taekwondo player kept the distance far the boxer wouldn’t be able to punch the taekwondo player. So the boxer would lose the fight.
But if the fight was kick boxer vs. taekwondo player and the taekwondo player kept the distance far the kick boxer would fight his way to make the distance closer. The same think if the kick boxer fights a boxer he would fight his way to make the distance farther.

    • i agree...

TKD...is very useless...they are saying that TKD got advantage when it comes with kicks...but i disagree...they only have fancy footworks but no power...the TKD is not afraid...he is just badly hurt with the kicks...muathai training with their kicks are way more different with TKD...at home they even hit their shins with bamboo sticks to numb their shins...those TKD that talks S**t about mua thai OBVIOUSLY havent got kicked...or hit by a thai kick...if ur aTKD and got hit in the side of the knee by a thai kick...im telling u your HOLLYWOOD kick will be useless...the guy here was very lucky not to get hit by an elbow or by a knee...elbow strikes can give more damage than punches...for thai boxers...distance is not a problem...they can kick hard in long distance, punch in mid and elbow in close quarters...TKD can dance, do gymnastics, break woods, and win goldmedals, and hopefully not get stab in close areas...or beat up by a bum

  • CRAP

The TKD doesn't know to fight or he is scared as hell, he just runs around and throws some sloopy kicks with no speed....this is a setup. If you search metacafe you will find a TKD vs Muay Thai which has the exact opposite result.Anyway the TKD guy in this movie didn't even punch...he hardly attacked. All in all it's not the person who uses it, not the style which makes the difference in a fight!!

    • but...

I post the two videos, the one that shows you that the taekwondo won and this one but even the other video shows you the muaythai fighter was scared but why he was scared because he knows that his opponent is stronger.
I posted the both videos just to show you how important is the distance.

    • true...

but i do practice Taekwondo (im not gonna use that to make my comment prejudiced) and that person in this movie was not very skilled at Taekwondo. In the other muay thai vs taekwondo movie, the taekwondo person was much better that this taekwondo fighter. I dont know if the Muay Thai boxer was good for his style, so the other movie may have the same idea as this one. Where one person is just more skilled in his style than the other person in their style. So in this movie, Taekwondo person was clearly outmatched, but in the other one, the Muay Thai boxer was outmatched.
