Hard to believe this type of aircraft was designed by Leonardo da Vinci back in 1485 or there about. He, much like Kip are men born ahead of their time.

Another problem with your design
Although the wind was too strong, another possible reason your ornithopter wasn't flying well is I notice that when you flap the wings, one wing flaps more than the other. After building the mechanics from scratch out of legos, i found that even the slightest bit off on the rod from the gear to the wings can mess it up and make it go crooked. Just a friendly tip of advise.
I am a big fan you, kipkay. Your $20 headphones helped make my robotics meetings less dramafilled so I can concitrate, lol.
