    knives, clubs, rocks, fists, poison, screw drivers, you name it, all can kill. Murder is unique to humans, no other species. It's just the weapon of choice. But we are also entitled to defend ourselves and our families, to hunt and use guns in legitimate sports.

    There are over 200 million guns in the hands of about 70 million private gun owning individuals. All but a few thousand of these are law abiding citizens who commit no crimes with their firearms. Most wouldn't give up their guns if you made it illegal to own guns tomorrow and the resulting civil conflict over it, would pale the violence prior to banning the ownership of guns. But, as those gun owners are also voters, I don't see them backing a ban on handguns anyway.

    Inanimate objects they are neither good or evil it is the person holding it that is good or evil, when ever someone kills another with a car nobody ever blames the car and cars kill more peolpe than guns do. Now you're gonna say but cars are a neccesity well they're not they are a convienece if you take the time man has been walking this planet and convert it into a 24 hour day cars have only been around for 5-10 minutes.

    • Knives for example are made to

      cut bread, fruit, steak or people, whatever they are aimed at. Just because of that they can be used to defend against an attacker or the can be misused by an attacker, in which case I'd prefer to have the gun for defense and hope I never have to shoot it. The nuclear bomb is different, it was developed without giving thought on a defense against it.
