I have all the respect in the world for privacy, but a car out in a public place, by definition, is NOT private and should not be considered such. And how do you figure I live my life for others? Or did you mean "through others?" If so, then I have to tell you, I don't go around looking into people's windows. Yes, there are some corrupt cops out there, and yes there are those who get their jollies by abusing their power. But the majority of the police I've met do their jobs and do them well in the interests up public safety knowing full well that any shift might be their last. Think about that for a minute. How would it fell to know that every time you "clock-in," you might not get to go home after, but you do it anyway so other people can walk the streets in relative peace? If you don't believe that, you must have a reason, and I'm sorry for whatever it was, but most likely nothing will ever convince you otherwise. In this instance, however, as others and myself have previously stated, "what if..." What if the woman was not there by choice, but was being raped? What if she was told that if she tries to get away or fights it, she would be killed? What if she was too young to even intellegently make the decision to have sex? What if it started as a carjacking and the guy decided he wanted more than just the car? Why were they in a public place anyway? Why not go somewhere private, like home or a hotel, or at least in the garage?

And you can't deny how pissed you'd be if a cop dropped in on you like that, asking for ID, shining a flashlight on you, and sticking a camera in there too. And so what if they are having sex in public place in their car? It might be something that they like to do. They weren't causing any harm to anyone, they even had the windows covered up.

I know we can argue about the "what if"s, but that cop was just being a prick in everything in that clip, his tone, his body language, and did not seem like he was there to save anyone at all.

One back window was covered with boxing tape because it was busted out and hadn't been replaced yet. Sure, they might both be consenting, but there is no way to know that unless he goes up to the vehicle and asks. As for having sex in a public place - it is illegal! I don't care if they want to do it, I want to take all the money from the bank vault too, but it's illegal. If you are going to have sex in a public area, you should be ready to get stopped, looked at, whatever. Not even by cops, there are a lot of other people out there too. That's what "public" means. There was no "tone," and no bad body language either. The cop didn't have an attitude, he was actually very professional in his tone and demeanor. He asked for ID, asked if the guy was in the millitary, never raised his voice or made any rude comments. Anyone who thinks THIS guy was a prick is in for a long, difficult life.

Having sex in a car is not like robbing a bank. They are both illegal, but having consentual sex is actually good. This cop was not actually "helping", but "doing his job". The car was in complete darkness until the cop showed up, so no one could have been staring at them. For all this cop knew, there was nothing going on back there. They are both older than 18, so there is no case of statutory rape, yet he decides to further question them.

I guess I read people differently than you. I don't know what you think of the cop shining the light on and staring at the girl's ass while she was getting dressed was, or bothering them further by asking them to get out of the car, or the fact that the cop was just trying to be professional, but couldn't manage to hide the fear and nervousness in his eyes and voice. But those things are all very far from actually "saving" anyone and are traits of a prick in action.

I used to be an O.P.P. officer but after the last high speed chase I was involved in, I decided to move on to something a little safer than a job where I had bullets whizzing by my head.

You may have heard about the robbery in London Ontario last summer where the crooks were heavily armed. They robbed a jewellry store in London and made a dash for the 401. We didn't get to them as quickly as others did but we ended up as the lead car. I took charge and made the decision to roll down my window and hang out of it with a shotgun. There were a lot more rounds coming back at me than I was sending at that SUV but I managed not to get hit, take out the guy shooting from the sunroof and then their two back tires. They all ended up dying from the driver losing control sending the vehicle all over the road and then rolling end over end. I didn't really notice because of the situation at first but my partner managed to get a bullet in the head. He died later in hospital. We managed to keep the media away from him so it wasn't shown in the news.

After that day, I decided to give up that career choice and begin working in construction. I now run heavy equipment for a living working 5 minutes away from my house.

I was alone with my 3 young kids.. and not 4 minutes passed that the cops were there.. punks got away through several backyards, (they evidently saw me on the phone) but I felt safe then and I still feel safe today thanks to those cops.

The one and only time I've ever had to call a cop, one arrived in about 15 minutes and that was only to take a report about my car getting broken into. I'm not an officer, but I can make a guess that cops are dispatched according to how serious the situation is. If you had your car broken into, I would think that ranks a bit below, say, someone else's life-threatening situation.

first of all, no one is illegally tapping phones. What all the recent commotion is about is the NSA tracing calls. They are NOT listening in on actual conversations unless they feel there is a need to, and then they have to get a judge to sign off on it. The phone companies know when a line is tapped and they will require a court order to allow it. What the NSA is doing is checking calls coming into this country from outside and looking at WHO is being called, from where, how many times, and the length of the call. Also, this info is generally received well after the calls are completed by checking past phone records. Internal domestic calls are off limits. The FBI can check those, but again they need a court order.

i didnt see an unreasonable search in this video. the law also protects people who have a reasonable expectation of privacy. having sex in your car in a parking lot wouldnt fall into this category of protection.
