On the 18th October 2007 ALDE members marked Europe's first awareness day Against Human Trafficking. The main spokespersons on the issue, MEPs Karis-Riis Jørgensen (Denmark) and Silvia Ciornei (Romania) held press conferences at national level.

An awareness-raising leaflet produced by Liberals and Democrats was distributed to mark the day at this year's ELDR Party Congress in Berlin.
