China has a history of doing this, they build big fast and use other attempts to impress the rest of the world but they end up screwing themselves in the end.

I remembers seeing a show about it, one time they decided they should grow as much rice as they could, then they decided they needed metal so everyone started smelting all the metal they could find. Neither was usable after the masses finished with the projects. They seem to thinking having millions of people work on one thing will show there power, but it only shows there inability to plan these things out.
