Its called drownproofing and although it looks cruel its not. In Russia and some places in USA a mother can give birth to a child in a pool of warm water . No shock to the baby and an easier birth for the mother. Baby will automatically hold its breath when under water as it does when in the womb so if you teach it to turn and float and later when it is stronger how to swim, the child will feel safe and comfortable in water with much less likelihood of ever drowning.

it dosnt have to hold its breath when still attached to the cord once deattached it does however in circumstances liek this the baby is treated more like a doll and is more abused then being trained downproofing is dangerous if ur not a professional and the baby may eaisly lose its breath and drown right there when u dont know what ur doing and r jus doing it to show off like u r here u can kill
the baby and its very cruel

It's about saving a childs life. Babies are born with a "swimmer’s reflex." This reflex stays strong for the first 200 days of life. Basically, this means children involuntarily hold their breath when submerged in water, as the environment mimics their surroundings in the womb.

So if a baby is born naked and crying covered with blood they should be that way all the time?
If my wife every treated my son similar to that, I would tie her to the bed and beat her.

This is probably a pretty good idea for people babies who are around water, but it is pretty hard for a parent to watch. I would be concerned about stress repercussions in later life. This is obviously quite stressful for baby. - Mixed feelings

Also - its a bit irresponsible for the posting party, you KNOW some idiot is going to throw their baby into the pool after watching this video. This baby has obviously been trained. It bothers me that people post potentially very dangerous stuff without a warning!

Stress repercussions in later life? It was a bit grumpy at points, but it certainly didn't look at all stressed.

that since they have a pool its safer to have the baby trained so if in case the baby falls in the pool he can survive instead of drowning
it's better to train him undersafe enviroment rather then have him drown to death

you should have not done that, but it is not too bad, you need professional trainer to train your child...

90% of the time when babys death happens becuase they face down when they fall in a pool. not face up D** A**! Train babys to swim?? R u blind or what? The baby was clearly just FLOATING. Floating does not count as SWIMING. If u r taking that training for the baby, u better cancel it, lol it's just a rip off.

yeah.. it does look little bit disturbing to see the baby is struggling to survive, but it is just a presentation, showing you how trained baby does when it is "THE CASE!!" that nobody can ever help him when he falls into pool. It is not a bad idea to bring a child to such a training... I would..
