  • Think rationally

    You need electricity to run the air compressor, and to produce electricity, it takes burning coal, wood, or nuclear power. So you don't get free energy at all, and probably don't save nature either.

    Talking about cost, maybe now it's cheaper to buy electricity than oil, but if everyone switch to this type of car, the demand for electricity will rocket up, and price will increase accordingly.

    So think more carefully before making your conclusion.

      And this is a great invention. There are new and better ways to create electricity. Where I'm from all our electricity comes from hydro-electric plants. And don't try to say it kills the fish. All the dams have fish ladders that are very effective. We also have wind farms that supply plenty of electricity for our agricultural regions. There are alternatives to burning fossil fuel for electricity.

      however, this can be resolved by powering the air compressor via solar or wind power.
      Having a solar panel on the roof of a gas station and a residential windmill there too, it can completly free it up from the power grid.
      I agree with you though, all of these designs for air, water, and electric cars all require using elecricity from some type of powerplant to opearate.

    • Hey!

      Why not remove the compressor & replace it with a battery? You wouldn't be wasting energy to convert electricity to compressed air! But then you might as well go as far as having an electric car. Then you wouldn't need all that gearing needed to turn the compressed air into movement !! not to mention all of the weight that will have !! But then there would be all of those debates about the electric automobiles.
      Just goes to show that all of this is complicated stuff.

    I saw this on discovery channel. This video doesnt explain it enough. The amount of electricity to fill the tanks isnt even as much as the cost of ONE gallon of gasoline. So youll be getting the equivilant of about 200 mpg. Also, one of the challenges was a tank that can hold the high pressure. It was solved with carbon nanofibers. The tank is also designed to split down the center in case of a crash, keeping you safe. It wont explode.
