Internet service providers Verizon, Time Warner Cable, and Sprint Nextel have agreed censor child pornography on the Internet with new systems they will implement. They agreed to do so after a New York Attorney General Anthony Cuomo led an investigation finding that the companies were failing to respond to complaints about lewd content involving children.
Disney announced it will stream feature length films on Disney.Com. Movies like “Finding Nemo” will be available to stream for a limited time after they air on ABC as a Saturday Night Movie during the summer.
The New York Times is teaming up with advertising company ADReady on NYTimes.Com to create a self-service advertising site. The service will allow advertisers to create and maintain ads on the newspaper of record's website, and it is meant to allow smaller businesses with advertising budgets of under 10,000 dollars to have their ads seen on one of the most highly trafficked sites on the entire web.
Kevin Martin, head of the FCC, is publicly advocating free Web even though the issue will not be on the FCC's meeting agenda this week. Martin has said he wants to provide free Internet access for everyone .........
