you left out several important facts...

The "victim" is a known gang member who resisted arrest after being stopped for several outstanding felony arrest warrants. He was pepper sprayed as well, but that had no effect on him. He was also trying to get the officers's gun. This video is from 2006.

Both the courts and the FBI found the officers actions reasonable. Personally, they probably should have shot him. I have little sympathy for people like this who prey on others and then whine when they're arrested.

the guy was an idiot, plain and simple. the police are supposed to protect us, but they have to protect themselves too.

When you see the way the police behaves around the world you see clearly the diference.
In England, when the suspect raise his hands, the police calmly handcuff him and take him away.
In LA, they kick, punch, step on their necks, if not shoot him. They love to hurt people.
It does not matter if it is a young man or even a woman and the "suspect" is unarmed and there are 4 or five police officers. They simply like to hurt people.
That's why in LA a lot of people have no sympathy fo the police.

Well, the point here is he was resisting, if you resist the cops, they have a reason to hurt you. Here it seems like he was resisting (and before, probably was trying to run). If you get caught listen to the police, put your hands above your head, behind your back. Then you shouldn't get hurt, and if you did, then you have a case in court for police brutality.

That is why we have so much crime in the US, the police are so restrained by the criminal's "civil rights" that they know they can't be hurt and go about trying to get the police in trouble in the process. Only fools hate the "cops". If you aren't doing anything illegal, you should be glad they're out there.

Having been a lifeguard for three years, I've pretty much witnessed it as a fact that if you really can't breathe, you can't talk either. Period. So him saying "I can't breathe" was evidence that he obviously could. And the fact that he said it repeatedly is further evidence that he inhaled several times to speak those words.

Having been a lifeguard for three years, I've pretty much witnessed it as a fact that if you really can't breathe, you can't talk either. Period. So him saying "I can't breathe" was evidence that he obviously could. And the fact that he said it repeatedly is further evidence that he inhaled several times to speak those words. If he really couldn't breathe it would have been a smart move to just let them put the cuffs on so they would get off of him so he COULD breathe. As much as I hate to say, I'm siding with the cops on this one.

he was strangling the gang member so he maybe try to hurt cop in leg and cop react abussing hitting. the first thing they should do was put him face down. court acts covering wrong actions because were "clean cops" against criminal. Anyway I think it was a good arrest and cops only need to train more and improve techniques in order to take care of themselves and human rigths too.
