Reason you can see through the balls because the material bends the light around the objects. Now only if that idea could be put towards a suit, hmm

- Heres why.
The ball is a solid ball of a material that refracts light at the same rate (or similar) as water (assuming that the liquid was water) sort of like umm, i dont know. GLASS? the aquarium it was in was a proof of concept, you could not see the walls holding the water in. logically any shape of the same material would be hard to see.
