Seen them by the hundreds

I was on a troller out of the west coast of Africa and there they are by the millions.

The "Flying fish" actually jumps out of the water to excape predators and then hits it's tail fin on the top of a wave to change direction to make it harder for whatever predator they are escaping from, to find where they come back into the water.

I have seen them glide like this over 40 meters changing their direction 3-4 times on the way.
