its not even about being shy and stuff..ur not bad..but u cant restrict latin dancing..routine stuff..and this salsa championships and what not..thats not realy salsa..go to a latin club and watch real salsa..learn from there

Don't feel too shy. We were all beginners once. You're not too bad though. Just try to relax a bit more. You scrunch your shoulders up when you turn and spin which can cause you to lose balance. Also try taking smaller back steps and keep your knees slightly bent which will help you with with your shift of weight and your balance. :) Keep up the practice!
