she has been the girl who opened my eyes in gymnastics way way back 30 years ago.

Unfortunately, as your will see in the upcoming 2008 Olympics, the new scoring system is in place. There is no more perfect 10. I will miss it. This even reminds me of Mary Lou Retton on the Vault in 1984.

She was voted world's best female gymnast ever.
You need to work very hard to get performance. She did!
Nadia is having also a very interesting story, running away from comunist dictator Ceaușescu's system, with hard nights until she passed the border between Romania and Serbia (Yugoslavia that time).

But the 1 thing remember the most was the backflip from the top bar to the top bar in one of her preformances.

I remember seeing a movie about this girl a few years ago.

She definitely was a great gymnast. I am not sure how much of that was made up in the movie.

I remember that the girl (in the movie) first scored only 1.0 (a single point) in that scene. The judges conferred for a short time. They finally awarded her with a perfect 10.0. (I guess nobody had ever gotten better than 9.9, than is why probably first scored 1.0).
