This is an experiment, carried out in a fume cupboard to comply with current smoking legislation, to illustrate to children the potential harm that can be caused by cigarette smoking. In the "old days" the pupils would have had the sensory association of the smell, and even the taste, of tobacco smoke, with the filth that they see accumulating; nowadays it's a merely visual experience, but still effective.

If you want to try it, do not put the bung in firmly; it is there to restrict, not prevent, smoke escaping, in order that the tar has time to condense inside the tube (as it would do in your lungs!).

Yes smoking is bad for you but
How many smokers smoke the filter also? To burn the whole cigarette gives a false reading of the toxins. The filter needs to be removed next time to show the true effects

  YOUR argument is that filters give off nothing when burned. That is false. Everything that gets burned gives off something. The video is talking about the bad effects of cigarettes. Sorry but the filter needs to be removed.

First, he burned the cigarette on a closed tube, preventing the smoke to come out. Nobody smokes a cigarette and never exhale the smoke. Next time do something more real and stop emulating Nostradamus. Fake!!
