  • He was a great football player..

but he chetead many times, and that's what i dislike about him. I do not care if he took drugs cocaine e.t.c. that is his personal matter, but during the game, he should play always fair.. He is though a legend, and he is definetely in the class of Pele...

  • Bad choice of song.. horrible

Madona has nothing to do with Argentina and that movie sucked. It doesn't reflect Maradona in anyway. Anyways, good compilation though.

  • Maradona was and forever will be the gre...

    Come on admit it already.
How can you compare a player that brought a second division team all the glory in Italy and won the greatest world cup in history by himself to a slow brazilian that played "SOCCER" in the united states for god knows how many years with no glory at all?
People all over the world voted Maradona as the best of the century, and i'll tell you this..if the there was another voting, Maradona would win over and over again.

    • ...

Americans say soccer, others say football. You say color and others say colour. It doesn't really matter. No one has to say it your way. :)

    • .

They call it "soccer" because when they notice the mistake of calling "football" to that thing that looks like "rugby" it was too late..and to those who says that "football" is not a intelligent game, they would be impress with the strategies and tactics that are necessary to win a game...

    • You americans

are absolutly dumb with foot, that`s why your favourite sports are played with hands, American Football, Baketball, Baseball, Hockey.

When you need an American Footbal player to really use the foot, you call some latinamerican to do it, because you can`t.

Foot-ball is because you use the foot to play it.

American Football should be called Handball, or something else, but not football.

(football was invented in England, and they called it footbal a long time before you invented "handball".

  • Not even close to Pele

Watch a documentary called "Pele Forever" and you'll see why maradona is just good when compared to Pele.

    • Pele is far behind Maradona

Pele had many supporters in his team. They all are world class player. Pele never gone to Europian Club and he didnt have the experiences of Europe's leagues. Every one know what Maradona did at Napoli.
Actually Pele was afraid of Series A or europe leagues.

    • I am not

going to waste my time arguing with you because you are clearly a maradona big fan so you are absolutely high to say something so stupid. Stop using cocaine, watch the documentary, and learn what a real player is. Maradona is probably on his way to argentina right now, crying like a little girl after losing to germany. And one more thing, Pele afraid of the european leagues? Why? They are a lot easier than any second division in Brazil - what they have is a lot of marketing (and the talent they buy from Brazil).

By flagg 1151766312 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Is that why

all the best Brazilian players are playing in Europe now?, Maradona is top of the tree, I've never seen anyone do the things Maradona did, Pele was amazingly consistent, great striker but did he beat players like Maradona did

By Bradula 1153745109 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Of course

or do you think anyone would refuse a 50 million dollar contract? They only play in europe because of the money. Since europe in general has very little talent, they have to buy talent. Maradona scored only a little over 300 goals in his whole career. Pele had scored 500 goals when he was only 21 and scored almost a 1000 goals more than maradona. does that say something to you?

By flagg 1153760140 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Yes, that says to me

that Pele scored a lot of goals... but quantity does not mean quality.

In fact... Pele scored many of those 1000 goals in friendly matches.

Check information and see for yourself.

By argento75 1168329305 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • You have to check

because I don't know where you came up with this stupid idea. Did he played friendly matches? Yes, sure. Many of the goals? C`mon, just a few. And Pele was QUANTITY AND QUALITY - the only thing maradona knows about quantity and quality is his cocaine. You clearly know nothing about Pele, and I'm sure you've never seen anything about his career. Go do your homework first.

    • Idea?

It`s not an idea. It`s a fact. If you prefer to be blind, then call it whatever you want.

I agree that maradona`s outside of playground life wasn`t the best, ok... but when you say something about a football player, you must watch the game.

I supose Pele has his stories too, only that maradona was a lot more mediatic, (because he played in important teams, of course) so his life outside the game was in every newspaper.

Watch every single goal by maradona and try to find ONE of pele that looks better.

      I KNOW YOU CANT

By argento75 1168578860 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • I KNOW I CAN

Just watch the documentary "Pele Forever" and you'll see not one but dozes and dozens of goals - but if you're too lazy for that, just watch this 10 minute clip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFgkzOSBA2s - then we'll see who's blind. Watxh the clip, watch the game, WATCH THE KING - the one and only. Maradona was damn good player, probably the second best - probably because I can think of a few names that would at least be on the same level. Pele Forever - Long Live The King.

    • Shut up!

He is among the best players ever. Right up there with Pele. He carried Argentina on his lone shoulders with not many great players in the team. Half the English team together could not stop him!

    • I may do not like that...

he used his Hands couple of the times... but I totaly agree for the rest!!!!

By gmorfeas 1151642617 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Hey, forget about the hands

please... ok, he did that, thats true... but are you going to judge a football player by a few acctions? If you are going to do that... then you need to do an investigation, don't you think??

Because there are worse stories about football players that "a hand".

    • Pele was the best

Pele was the best footballer ever full stop. Maradona was a great player with his left foot....very rarely scored with his right and with his head. Pele could score using both feet and scored many headers unlike Maradona.

By tradr 1151838851 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Pele

played in a position you're suposed to score... and he played in a league where the rest of the players didn't know how the game was played.

I mean: if you play football in USA, then you surely will be great, because they are not good football players at all.

But Maradona, he went to an insignificant team in Italy, Napoli, and made it champion, something the never dreamed.

Pele was great, but maradona, believe me, was greater.

      Bye.
