The officer said what he was feeling at the time, "I wanted to kill him." You better believe you would have wanted that guy dead if you were trading shots with him. Much better than had he said ,"I just wanted it to end with no-one getting hurt." Don't you hate when you hear that?

in the slow motion version. After the suspect opens the door, you can see two distinct smoke blasts from the suspect's gun. Suspect fired his weapon at the police car twice from a sitting position. Cop made the right choice to ram the vehicle and the suspect.

the officer was gonna stop but with the suspect having watched too many movies thinking he was gonna stop the oncoming vehicle with the perfect shot caused the officer to accelerate.
i would have done the same thing but with more acceleration maybe. not good for the suspect hopefully but also bad for me or that officer that was injured.
not much choice though.

somehow I think that was the point, that he was driving so close. It is known as a "police pursuit", it is what happens when you do not stop when the police want you to. If you fail to stop, they will drive you off the road, throw spikes, etc.
