Wherever do you find the time to correspond regularly with "thousands of troops"? I think you are guilty here of a slight excess of hyperbole? If you had said dozen, it might have been believable.

While I disagree with their position, I have no problem hearing what they have to say. We also have to keep in perspective that this is their POV.Just as there are Thousands of troops who appreciate the opportunity to serve. Even those who were maimed. I speak to troops who lost leggs. Their only regrets itseems is that they will not be allowed to return to the battle.We don't hear their stories on CNN do we?I wonder why we never hear from the thousands of troops who reenlisted 3 times.

What happened to the POW defectors to China? I don't think ive ever heard of that.

Ive only heard democrats rip troops, with their snide remarks.While there are plenty of troops unhappy with their mission,there are thousands who disagree with them.Every one of the thousands of tropps that i correspond with and know personally , including those i serve with are happy they went. SOme are pissed about some aspects of military life, but you should have heard us bitch when democrats cut our supplies and training in the 90s.

Americans really do not know how to deal with men of conscience who come forward to repudiate their actions in a senseless and unjust war. The difference between them and those who vilify them as "traitors" for speaking out is that they paid their dues and served, whereas so many of the chickenhawks who condemn them have not. As Thomas Jefferson wrote, "Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism." These are honorable men. Let us never confuse honest dissent with disloyalty.

Who doesn't deserve to live? We live in America and that means everyone has the right to free speech. Those soldiers are just speaking the truth that everyone else wants to ignore. They may have killed innocents in Iraq, but they obviously feel remorse for what they have done. Anyone is capable of killing in a war situation. It doesn't necessarily mean they are evil human beings.

Peace in the world ???? are yor f*ing people out of your minds ??? there will never be peace on earth... some people don't even talk to their own families, mothers or fathers, and you think you can dialog with those throat cutters ??.. those animals don't deserve to live, period.. peace on earth ???.... my ass !

Of course there are going to be civilian casualties, because of collateral damage or because they thought someone is a terrorist but turned out not to be. That is the problem with fighting terrorists, you can't tell who is a civillian and who is not. Sure, bad things happen, but you cant just give up a war because some people are whining about those accidents.

It is really crap what happens there. But as the former marine said, they act out of fear. fear of civilians picking up a gun or blowing themselves up next to the troops. It is a fucked up war with two sides. And the bad thing is, there is no dialoge.
