    do you have to hold x when you put the battery in so that it can install or will it automaticallty do it once inserted?, and also do you have to use something called the magic memory stick?

      well it should install by itself and yes you need a magic memory stick, if you don't know if you have a magic memory stick go to music, picture, video, or game then
      go to the memory stick and press triangle then go to information if it says Magicgate Supported then you have a magic memory stick
