  • Driver of the rig totally at fault.

    As soon as he saw the flashing lights on the police car, he should have backed off, and taken the left lane at the first opportunity. But no, he figured, oh, the guy will pull over, so I'll just buzz on by. Idiot trucker. Hope he lost his license.

    ..of you that commented about the 'cops fault' or 'the drivers fault' actually watch the video more than once? If the car had not done something wrong he would not have been pulled over; If the driver had pulled over more than he did, he STILL WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT!!! The rig was over the white line by- AT LEAST a few feet. Charge the RIG driver. Turn the volume DOWN and watch it.

    this has been going on for 50 years, accidents like this, sometimes its the police that get hit, wake up!! build "pull over points" every mile or so, like an extra lane with plent of visibility ie lighted and marked, so both parties can pull off the hiway and safely into a "pull over point" out of harms way. then walla no more of these accidents and no more troopers or policeman getting hit either.
    but i suppose the state would say it would cost to much money, just like they said to many life boats make the titanic look cluttered, and look what happened to them. how much is a life worth???? perhaps the law is getting away with to much.

    they tried to blame the driver of the rig for the accident. That's why you should never EVER slam on your brakes in front of a big rig. I just hope that the person in the car survived. And I have to compliment the driver of the rig, in that it didn't look like he hit any other vehicles. Good Job.

    Guys, do you know how many times that actually happens! Its not that the officer was being heartless more like desensitized, probably seen it a thousand times, why do you think HE pulled way off into the grass. What the hell else are you going to say? My first thought would have been he's screwed too. Friggin semi should have been over in the other lane anyways. Semi had to have been hauling ass to cross all 5 lanes and end up out in the field, notice that the car went the entire distance with him. WOW

      When was the last time you were in a semi and a 4 wheeler cuts lanes either to eixt or bcause the police pulls them over? Even more, what about you, do yu clear the path infrom of another vehicle? Step away from the water cooler and see that the car pulled over quickly, not giving other drivers time to adjust. I had a police car cut me off (in a marked car) just to take an exit. No lights, at normal speed just making an unsafe move. I have to comend the trucker for keeping the rig upright and managing not to hit other cars.
